In a post-apocalyptic flooded world there are two things running short: oil and time. The last survivors in a desperate desire to seize control and dominate the enemy have started the naval warfare that turned the whole world into one large battlefield. In these harsh and cruel times, oil is thicker than blood.
Oil Rush is a real-time strategy game based on group control. It offers mechanics of a classical RTS combined with a Tower Defence genre: control the upgrade of production platforms as well as their defence forces, and send battle groups of naval and air units to capture enemy platforms and oil rigs.

A mixture of tower defense and classic real time strategy game. I'm not sure if I really like this game or I don't like it at all. Oil Rush is kind of a simple game considering its genre, but also, it has potential to be something really big. The fact that you can choose one single unit to place it wherever you need makes the game a different RTS, and you will need some time to get used to what Oil Rush has in mind for you. Oil Rush is more like conquering bases instead of destroying your enemy's headquarters. Conquering means you'll need to defend them later, adding that essence of tower defense. Actually, there are some levels where instead of managing your units you'll just have to upgrade your turrets to bear with the enemy waves trying to reach your command center. Graphics are out of date, and I don't mean now, I mean when the game was released. Oil Rush was delayed and you can see that in the visual aspect of the game. Interface and gameplay are good once you've learnt how to play. A different strategy game. Probably easy if you are used to classic RTS games but worth a try.
Oil rush has a very good campaign and skirmish mode.Also It is hard enough , it is challenging you in every time you play. But it isn't too complex , you can only order units to attack , move etc. So it is easy to learn , hard to master! There's nothing to say about graphics and sound. Water and explosions are very good for a RTS game. Sounds are awesome . But there's no one playing it. I don't know why. It could be better if there was more players or more SP maps.
Finally a game on the famous Unigine. The engine has been mostly used for beautiful benchmarks to truly test the strength of your gaming rig, and this is no exception. There's physics in the water and the explosions are amazing, but visuals aside, it's a very small game. Not a complex RTS game at all, you got a few commands. So the game should be very appealing to a more casual audience. I wouldn't spend more than 10$/Euros on it, however. It's not a big game at all. It sorta falls back to the Uniengine benchmarking, you just got actually gameplay this time around.
At the core: this game is an RTS in which controlling 'bases' is key. The bases are the main buildings: resource mines, unit factories, etc. The bases can be expanded with turrets or other defence systems. Graphics are great and suit the game's grim post-apocalyptic world well. Action is cool and the various units are well balanced. The single player campaign is a tad slow (especially since you'll face some hard missions which will certainly fail multiple times).
This game, at its core, is a tower defense game dressed up in pretty graphics. You have bases, which automatically manufacture units, which you then order to other bases for combat and capture. As much as I want to say this game is excellent, its a victim of its own simplistic concept. Rather then selecting specific units, you are limited to a "small medium or large" selection, so if you want to move a specific group you have to jump through hoops to do so. Also, defense in games like this should be based on reactions and quick thinking, but the automation of movement leads to command delays of several seconds. This game is worth a buy, if you are a TD fan. Otherwise you'll likely be disappointed as I was.
