Game description

The good news is your school is about to explode. The bad news is...you’re trapped in it with her.

The Coma is back, recut and remastered. Explore this horror-fest of the Korea indie cult classic with an all new visual upgrade and mechanics.

  • 2D hand illustrated visuals.
  • A unique infusion of Korean horror in the survival-adventure genre.
  • Listen carefully to footsteps revealing the killer’s approach.
  • Run and hide from the world’s most relentless psycho-killer.
  • Avoid poisonous tentacles and clawing shadows as you explore.
  • Discover notes and clues that illuminate the mystery of Sehwa High.
  • Work together with the others who are trapped here. But can they be trusted?
  • Crouch in the shadows during intense moments as the Killer searches for you.
  • Reveal the startling mystery of your school through maps, notes, and exploration.

Run & Hide

With no escape in sight, Youngho must roam the halls of his school at night searching for a way out. During this journey he will encounter many threats hell-bent on killing him. Running is the best way to avoid danger — unfortunately, Youngho isn't much of an athlete, so he can't run forever. Find a place to hide and keep your mouth shut!

Explore

The Coma is a harsh world. This twisted reality of your high school knows no kindness. Use maps, notes, and tips from other characters to navigate your way through the world and figure out how you became trapped in such a bleak place.

Survive & Escape

Everything is out to get you. Youngho will have to avoid a persistent killer, lashing tentacles, and more to survive the school. Unfortunately, health is in short supply, and if you're not careful, you will die. The good news is that save-points provide a welcome breather from the onslaught of things trying to kill you.

Korean Horror

The Coma provides a glimpse — albeit a horrific one — into the life of Korea's overworked high school students. We hope you'll enjoy our infusion of Korean culture into the survival horror genre.

Gameplay

As Youngho, you must navigate through the three connected buildings of your high school using your wits. Along the way, you will find unlockable art, notes, and easter eggs that expand on The Coma universe. Oh yeah, did we mention the relentless killer, traps, and inevitable game overs?

After spending all night studying for the last day of Sehwa High’s final exams, Youngho has an eerie dream. He arrives at school the next morning and learns someone tried to commit suicide in school the night before. Despite this, class goes on!

Youngho drifts asleep during the final to find himself trapped in the school at night. The only problem is...he’s not alone. You can run. You can hide. Can you survive while piecing together the nightmarish mystery of Sehwa High?

  • A new horror theme.
  • New character animations.
  • New hiding mechanic.
  • Rolling evasion.
  • Rebalanced items & inventory.
  • Rebalanced stamina gauge.
  • Updated cutscenes and art.

A great Survival-Horror game

ScarecrowReaper

In fact, The Coma: Recut s a remaster version of The Coma: Cutting Class game that released in 2015 and it receives positive feedbacks. It is a fun survival-horror game from a Korean developer and tells the story of a high school which its teachers and students turn to horrific ghosts. You are in role of a students whom her name is Youngho and must make your way out of the high school while discover the mysterious game story. You can finish the game story in almost 4 hours, its base gameplay around run and hide from monsters or ghosts while fine specific items and talk to certain characters. I recommend The Coma: Recut to all survival horror fans.

Decent 2D horror game but doesn't reach heights of some similar titles

Legolas_Katarn

The Coma is a 2D game where you fall asleep in class and wake up in a darker version of your school where your teacher is trying to kill you. You find items and notes that allow you to progress and healing items to recover health and stamina. When you are found by your teacher you can run and attempt to find a place to hide and you can roll to avoid her attacks. It can be somewhat tense at first but eventually you will know where you can hide and notice that she never looks into any of the hiding places to try to find you. There are some good moments but it is never as interesting or as disturbing as games like Lone Survivor or Corpse Party. The game has different endings based on some of the things you do but they are really the same ending with more information being given to you based on how well you do, even with the best ending you don't get closure as it attempts to set up a sequel.

A Decent Remastered which wasn't really neccessary!

russel_vjd

The Coma: Recut is a remastered version of a point and click horror game called The Coma: Cutting Class which was not released so many years ago that should need a remastered version but this new one with the same unique artistic 2D design, atmosphere and a pretty engaging story invites you to explore your school during a nightmare and in the way you will encounter to some decent and challenging puzzles and eventually you need escape this nightmare as your demonic teacher is haunting you, the gameplay mainly follows a hide and run mechanism and mostly you need to elude your enemies instead of engaging them. So if you didn't play the Original game yet I recommend to go straight for this one since it has some improvements and enhances which maybe provides you a better playthrough!
