Who is John Yesterday?
In New York City, beggars are disappearing one after another, only to be found burnt alive. Meanwhile, a Y-shaped scar forms in the palm of the hands of seemingly unrelated people. With the police and the media giving little attention to these events, Henry White, a young and rich heir dedicated to a charitable organization, and his friend Cooper, are the first to investigate these disappearances. They are two of the three playable characters in Yesterday, the third being none other than the enigmatic John Yesterday, who is dragged into this incredible story after his memory is completely wiped.
This is the starting point of a brand new adventure from Pendulo Studios, which will drive you into a dark story full of twists and turning points, and give you the chance to choose between 4 different endings! Choose who you want to control: Henry, Cooper or John in the game’s grand finale and leave the closing at your will! Do you want justice to win? Would you prefer a crooked ending? Or rather an unexpected, jaw-dropping one? It’s up to you!

After reading some of the earlier reviews and seeing trailers, etc., my first advice to you is to make your OWN conclusions. Try a game before giving up on it or rating it badly. I've been a hardcore adventure gamer since they were text adventures and the short trailer for this game had me hooked before I even played it! For those of you not familiar with point and click adventures, this will be one to remember, if not a little short. It has all the points of being a good adventure: Excellent if a little unnerving storyline, fantastic and colorful graphics, haunting music and imagery, and those wonderful adventure puzzles we adventure gamers have grown to love and hate all at the same time. With that being said, I highly recommend checking this one out as long as you don't get too frustrated with the "puzzle" aspect of the game. Think of this part a little differently from other classic adventure games in that there's a little "Macgyver" in all of us that this game uses to frustrate, amuse, and terrify us with the overwhelmingly immersive storyline. The only thing I can find to fault this game is it's length for any real heavy duty gamer. The puzzles were relatively easy to figure out, if you think like Macgyver that is. The ending was suitably satisfying and creepy to make me hope for a sequel or another game based on this platform. Hat's off to all those responsible for making this such a great game!
Yesterday is one of a slew of point-and-click games that seem to be making their way to gamers nowadays, and it's a pretty good one. You are a man who is suffering from amnesia (a contrived plot point, but it works for this story), but from there the plot only gets stranger and surprisingly violent. As an adventure game, it was enjoyable from start to finish, but it is unfortunately quite short. In addition, the animation during dialogue seemed a bit off to me, and some of the puzzles may be quite frustrating, but not more so than any other similar game. All in all, a good game to get on sale or in a bundle.
One of the most solid adventure games in a loooonng time. Beautiful HD comic book style artwork and a moderate difficulty sets this apart from the many casual seek and find games nowadays. This has a huge dose of the Gabriel knight days for those of us who loved playing them. Really engaging story that is definately for 16+ age groups only - not only for violence and language, but the plot twists and turns can really only be appreciated by this age, to be honest. Maybe because I was enjoying it so much the time flew and the game was over a little sooner than I would have liked, but overall I love this studio and I need a sequel to this game pronto. But it now!
From the developers of Runaway Trilogy and Hollywood Monster 1 and 2 (aka The Next Big Thing),Yesterday is a good game, with an interesting and "adult" plot (a new element for the software house).Sadly, the game is very short:it can be completed in two hours with no trouble. Puzzle are very easy, and if you really stuck on them there is a hint system that can help you out. There are several endings (one, the funniest,is secret),but you can view them all simply repeating the last section of the game. Good but only if you can take it for lower price.
As with all Pendulo Studios adventure games Yesterday is beautiful to look at. It's got a nice flow, well written with a nice little twist quite early and not too many illogical puzzles - i was only stumped by one or two. But there's a downside and it's a fairly significant one - the game is very short. I mean even by 'short game' standards this one is short. Think i was done start to finish in three hours. It's a fun ride and worthwhile but only i'd suggest if it's on sale (in terms of value) or if a very quick little adventure is what you seek.
