In Outriders, the Bulletstorm and Painkiller developers have created a multiplayer co-op RPG shooter filled with superpowers and their trademark precision attention to combat.

Set on a mysterious planet where you swiftly become ‘Altered’ and gain powerful new abilities, your character becomes embroiled in a civil war that threatens the continued existence of humanity itself. 

What sets Outriders apart from the competition is in the moment-to-moment experience of play. Each class is unique and distinct from each other, and can be tinkered with to a surprising degree letting each player express themselves on the battlefield. 

You could cower behind cover, popping out to take shots at the enemy which is safe, secure, and familiar. Outriders’ dizzying array of abilities asks you to go on the offensive, however, seeing you battle guerilla foes out in the open, with most classes recovering their health through their abilities. How those abilities combine with other players is the core of the game and it’s where the game becomes something truly special. 

Take the Technomancer, for example. They are a support-focused class, deploying gadgets like mines and turrets. The Technomancer regains health when any enemy dies through any means, so keeping your team alive and chipping away at your enemy’s health becomes an elaborate dance that’s as fulfilling as it is exciting. 

Every class plays differently but each is focused on aggression, getting you out of cover, and absolutely destroying your foes.
