Fear comes in many flavours, and in Resident Evil Village that fear comes in the flavour of a distant Eastern European village populated by mutated creatures that defy classification. Like Resident Evil 7 Biohazard before it we’re expecting a new twist on the long-running series, with new monsters, characters, and allies appearing to spice up the horror. That doesn’t mean there won’t be recognisable faces, however, as some returning characters will be popping in.

Ethan Winters – Todd Soley (EN) – Hidenobu Kiuchi (JP)
Resident Evil Village’s main character, Ethan Winters returns after the horrific exploration of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard’s Baker estate. We meet up with Ethan a few years later, seeing his peaceful life with wife Mia being torn apart by the arrival of Chris Redfield at the start of Resident Evil Village. Now, he is alone again in a hostile village, seeking revenge, answers, and a way out.
Chris Redfield – Hiroki Tōchi (JP)
If you’ve even grazed the surface of a Resident Evil game you’re likely familiar with Chris Redfield, star of many of the games since the original Resident Evil. Now, he’s back leading a BSAA strike team called the Hound Wolf Squad, and it’s his arrival that causes Ethan to be drawn into Resident Evil Village’s events. But is he still himself, or has something gone wrong for our Chris?
Alcina Dimitrescu – Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (EN) – Kikuko Inoue (JP)
Alicina – or rather, Countess Dimitrescu to you, is the presumed matriarch of the Dimitrescu family who rule over the titular village and the overlooking Castle Dimitrescu. She’s got a bone to pick with Ethan Winters and can be found hunting him down throughout the game. Armed with vampiric tendencies, a handful of razor-sharp blades, and a 9 foot 6 inch height, she’s as deadly as she is mysterious. And tall.
Mia Winters – Akari Higuchi (JP)
The wife of Ethan Winters, she’s been living quietly with Ethan for a few years, recuperating after the ordeals of the Baker estate. A violent incident involving Mia and their daughter, Rosemary, act as the catalyst for the beginning of the events in Resident Evil Village. It may seem that Mia’s story has come to a grisly end, but as we all know, anything can happen in a Resident Evil game.
Rosemary Winters
The daughter of Mia and Ethan, Rosemary is kidnapped by Chris Redfield at the start of the game, causing Ethan to begin his hunt for her return. A mutant, Rosemary may harbour strange powers that others may seek to exploit, or might even be a threat that needs to be stopped. All we know is…we’ll find out, one way or the other.
So now you should know some of the people, and creatures, you’ll be spending your time with in Resident Evil Village, with the main characters, cast, and voice actors you’ll meet throughout the game.
