Tales of Arise Characters and Party Members

The newest entry in the long-running Tales series, Tales of Arise is set to immerse JRPG fans in a huge world filled with new characters, adventures, and the series’ trademark real time combat. As you quest through Tales of Arise you’ll meet plenty of party members, with six confirmed so far.

It’s time to take a moment to meet who you’ll be spending your time with as we take a closer look at all the Tales of Arise characters we know about so far.

Alphen

Alphen is who you’ll be spending most time with as he’s the first main character of Tales of Arise. Caught between the conflict between the planets of Dahna and Rena, Alphen is a swordsman without a past who’s looking to bring freedom to the Dahnan people. We’re sure during your adventures you’ll find out just why he’s forgotten his life prior to the game with some hefty surprises that are bound to pull the rug out from under your feet.

Shionne

From the other side of the conflict comes Shionne, the second protagonist in Tales of Arise. This Renan noble has been stricken by the terrible Curse of Thorns which causes intense pain on anyone who dares to touch her. However, one can bear to touch her without suffering; our amnesiac swordsman, Alphen. She’ll be an intense asset on the battlefield, as not only can she toss out a heal, she specialises in sniper rifles and fire magic.

Rinwell

Rinwell takes on the role as the party mage, despite being Dahnan, and therefore incapable of using magic. This makes her a threat to both worlds, as the existence of a Dahnan mage means everything everyone has been told is a lie. In your party she’ll bring the thunder, as well as the fire, ice, and wind through her devastating magical attacks.

Law

Law walks a dangerous path through life. A Dahnan who works to free his people from Renan control, he also is an undercover agent for the Snake Eyes, the Renan secret police. Attempting to worm his way into the Snake Eyes and bring them down from within, danger stalks his every move. When fighting he utilises powerful martial arts to deal massive damage and is a threat that can’t be underestimated.

Dohalim il Qaras

This Renan noble hails from Elde Menanica, a place where Renans and Dahnans live together in peace. Dohalim brings not only himself to the party but Kisara as his loyal bodyguard, with a history together that’ll become uncovered throughout the game. As he fights he’ll blast your opponents with his strong magical powers, making him a key component of your party.

Kisara

Kisara is renowned as one of the finest and strongest warriors in the entire Dahnan army. Acting as Dohalim’s bodyguard, there’s a central mystery to her role as a Dahnan protecting a Renan is odd in this war-torn universe. She acts as the party’s tank, soaking up damage with her colossal shield and smacking down foes with a well-wielded mace.

Hootle

Finally, we have Hootle. Hootle is a baby owl you’ll find in the company of Rinwell. We don’t know much about Hootle just yet…but Hootle has to be the most adorable creature we’ve laid eyes on for a long time.

Now you should know a few of the Tales of Arise characters you’ll be fighting alongside in your adventures as you experience the epic story behind the war between the Dahnan and Renan people. If you’re planning on playing Tales of Arise, head over to our community forum and let us know who you’re most excited to meet – we’d love to hear from you.
