About Love, hate and The Other Ones is a puzzle game where you control two characters called love and hate and use them together to press a button to pass each of the many levels. The controls are really simple: you select the character and click at its destination and it goes to that place, if possible. If you select one character and click of one of the "others" at the map, this 'other" will get close to you if you are using love and will get far if it's hate. And, when you use each one of them, they use an annoying, but funny voice for each one: the love will say "i love you" and the hate will say "I hate you. Can't be more predictable than that. The game starts REALLY easy, so you can get the hang of it, but it starts top get really tough soon enough. I got stuck really earlier at this game because of that. The game is good for puzzle lovers and it's creative at its gameplay.
About Love, Hate and The Other Ones is a simple casual puzzle game, but its elegant design and attention to detail take it a step ahead of most games in its genre. While it was originally a mobile game, this PC port was well implemented and uses intuitive point-and-click controls. The player controls the personifications of Love and Hate as they find their way through each stage to a button that teleports both emotions to the next level. Helping or blocking them are a variety of Other Ones, which move closer or perk up when Love tells them "I love you," and do the opposite when Hate says "I hate you." Levels have a smooth difficulty curve and neatly teach each new mechanic with progressively more complex designs, so the player quickly gets the hang of shuffling the Others around to clear a path. The game is rendered in an attractive, smoothly animated cartoon style, with a couple of slick full-screen animations presenting the simple story. None of the 80 levels present a huge challenge, but sometimes it's nice to spend a few minutes on a puzzle that won't break your brain. I had some pleasant coffee breaks with ALHaTOO, and I hope you do too.
About Love is a charming little puzzler with attractive visuals and solid puzzles, but it is missing something to break the monotony of solving similar puzzles over and over. There are cute cut scenes between worlds, but no real point to them and no story to speak of. There is also no difference between finishing levels as Love or Hate - another missed opportunity to add a little depth. This is no World of Goo, but a good puzzle game nonetheless.
It's a nice, casual indie game to pass the time. I like to play this game in short bursts. You play as Love and Hate, who have different abilities. Love can bring others towards you and Hate can drive others away from you. The goal of the game is to clear a path and escape the level by using Love and Hate's powers to manipulate the level. which is less than a bag of chips or a soda. I recommend picking this game up if you like casual puzzle games.
The quaint drawings in the game, the environment, the sound effects and the general feel of the game puts you in mind of a European cartoon animation. The game has a pleasant and cozy aura, it is cute and sweet. The cut scenes and the ideas behind the game fit this slightly kitsch somewhat story time atmosphere. I quite enjoyed the puzzles, they are well designed and the difficulty curve is manageable and progresses gradually without hitting you with bricks out of nowhere, the mechanics in the game are very simple, you have a push and a pull and it's up to you to decide your moves to reach your goal. The game is simple and does not frustrate the player like many other small puzzlers out there by redundant loading screens, messages, or irritating unnecessary objects, interfaces and gaudy frills. All n all, a clean solid puzzler game, which is very pleasant to look at, and enjoyable to play. I would recommend it for anyone.
