Anyone i know, who is gaming, played the first commandos, and liked it. At the same time, not many people i know got through the first sniper in this game, and most stopped playing right after that. I bared a little longer, but seriously...if you want to play a good tactical game, avoid this, and just play one of the fist commandos games, or even a the second one. This one is just lazy.
- Graphics are locked at 800 x 600. A step backwards from Commandos 2 - Too many timed missions. Commandos is all about planning and playing at your own pace. - Too many sudden events triggered for no apparent reasons, often ruining a level especially if one saved at the wrong time. - Sizes of maps are too small; number of which is too few. Lots of people call this the worst one in the series. Though as it's only a few dollars it might help kill some hours.
Yes, it's World War II. And it's back in an interesting tactical game that tries to create the strategy of the second world war. As far as tactics go, this game is actually decent. It definitely kills some time and has some levels that made me think and rethink my tactics. Overall, a good game for good tacticians.
