You won't want to miss Mankind Divided, but if you haven't played Human Revolution then you're missing out as well. I went through this game 5 times and still found new things to do and secrets I had missed. But the best part is you can play any way you want to, full assault, total ghost, or somewhere in between. Entertaining quests, great upgrades/augs and a sarcastic protagonist will accompany you through this cyberpunk world.
Original version of Human Revolution was excellent, except for the boss fights, which turned great stealth game to a really horrible FPS, because of how awkward and not fun shooting in this game was. It was so bad it was almost game breaking, but in this version, it got fixed and now you can take out bosses silently, which is huge improvement. It also added New Game plus, which is welcome addition. Some things, though, are miss, like getting rid off gold colors and instead making everything look normal - to me, it took some of the atmosphere from the game. And while it is nice developers implemented Missing Link into this game, it is kind of gamebreaking, since it's clear it wasn't designed for it, so by the end of the game you can get even more overpowered than you were already in vanilla. It's nice that they added making of into the game, though. Overall, nice package and if you didn't play this, you absolutetly should, because it's still a great game.
My second favorite game in the Deus Ex series, I got it at full price, and right now on GMG it's less than 5$, all I can say is if you love the perfect mix of Stealth FPS + RPG that Deus Ex is famous for providing this is definitely for you, it's the definitive edition, and it sets you up for the next game in the series Mankind Divided, you can play however you want, non-lethal and silent, or just disregard that and run and gun it, I prefer the later but I've done playthroughs of both by now. For being an FPS/RPG game it's pretty open ended you can explore quite a bit while you're in each major area of the game. If you're on the fence, just watch the trailer for the Director's Cut, just watch it, trust me, the trailer is so good, you won't even question the game.
alternate title: it's not as good as the original, but.... functional shooting, functional stealth, functional story, 30 odd hours of gameplay, terrible ending. I love this game, but it absolutely fails in every way in comparison to the original: the grand open levels, the choice! This game has no choice. You stealth it, or you don't have fun. You explore every route, or you don't level up. You will never have, and never need to have, more than one bat of energy. It sucks, but it looks pretty and that's more than you could say for DEUS EX. You won't be angry that you bought this, but you might be a wee bit disappointed at how simple it is compared to the original.
Those sun-glass implants are ridiculous. OK, now with that out of the way, lets see the pros: -Huge game, that actually reacts to your actions in a big way. Almost everything you do pays off later. -The skill system is awesome, the gameplay changes sometimes radically, depending on your character. Sometimes even after a single level. -The hacking minigame should be a separate game. I liked it so much i hacked everything, even when i knew the passwords. -Great story, and atmosphere. -Great variety of weapons. I can't recommend this game enough.
