Positives: + Decent graphics, but nothing amazing. + Arsenal of weapons to use throughout the game, such as uzi's, shotguns and a variety of military grade assault rifles, along with pistols. + This entire game is action, with frequent shootouts and some intense cutscenes (although these are all too rare). As a result of this non-stop combat you do feel engaged in the game. + Various parts of the environment are destructible, and become damaged amidst the firefights Kane and Lynch are involved in. Negatives: - The story is lacklustre in comparison to Kane and Lynch: Dead Men (the original). The characters themselves feel dull and the interesting aspects of their personality are absent in this game. The story is straightforward and doesn't have any complexity to it. - The main campaign takes about 3-4 hours. It would definitely be longer on the highest difficulty but still nowhere near long enough. - While the constant shootouts in this game can be viewed positively, it also becomes so common that it loses its charm. - The new arcade mode is boring and repetitive. If you like to unlock achievements this is a grind. You join a team of AI criminals where you execute a heist to steal cash or other valuables, then shoot your way to the escape vehicle. After you become accustomed to the different maps (which are nicely thought-out I shoud add), you just repeat them over and over to gain ranks and access to different weapons. Not fun. Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days is ideal for an afternoon playthrough when you have nothing else to do. A short game filled with action and a story which isn't quite in-depth enough to be captivating. It features some cutscenes which will move you, but in the end falls short in many areas. Only grab it very cheap on sale like I did.
Dog Days is a great third-person shooter, set in Shanghai, tells the story of Kane and Lynch, who mistakenly get caught out in a gang war in which they must act together if they want to survive and eventually escape from Shanghai. The game features a single-player and multiplayer mode (co-operation), and arcade mode is also available without co-op. Shooting is fun despite a few available weapons, opponents are also quite repetitive. The story is good, it gives satisfactions with completion, but it is quite short and linear. Worth checking out considering the price.
The story of Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days unfolds through forty-eight hours of hell, with a script that would look deep into a film of high quality. The two characters find themselves in very difficult situations and once again have to rely on each other to survive, which is far from obvious when you were at his heels is a huge criminal organization that the law enforcement agencies in Shanghai. It is the usual "two against all", therefore, strengthened by a series of elements really hit the spot (the camera movement, the enemy AI), which perhaps is not surprising for the variety of situations but that bases its success on a gameplay solid and engaging. In this sense, the multiplayer mode serve as effective boundary while not stealing the show at the story mode, and complete the picture of an experience perhaps not very durable but certainly intense.
I'm pretty enjoy the story and the way story move on, just the game-play performance didn't reach my exception...by the why it is a nice game...worth to buy it when discount..
Kane and Lynch 2 does nothing to separate itself from the first installment. The graphics are good although the game is kinda old. You can play with the two characters at selected places and while you play with one character you can hear what the other character tells you. That's the best thing in this shooter. The troubles and the personal attitude to them are very well staged. You will get compassion with the protagonists, and that's the main strength of this game. The gameplay is kinda shallow but the characters make up for it.
