Game description

Echtzeit (Abenteuer) trifft rundenbasiertes (Schlachten) Gameplay

Game That Keeps On Giving

King's Bounty: The Legend is one of those games you simply can't put down. There is such a sheer bounty of creatures, army combinations, and battle strategies that you must keep playing until all of the monsters that inhabit this colorful and humorous world are defeated. Oddly, the biggest problem with the game is that it is too long. When you think you have beaten it, a whole new world unfurls, and then another and another... A single playthrough (hardest difficulty, 100% completion with all side quests) took me 160 hours , time well spent.

Really the legend

I am a big fan of the Heroes of Might & Magic franchise, I played them since the first one to the fifth one, I knew King Bounty was almost the same but with no castle and a single hero. Come on, that's what make HoMM so good, you build you castle, watch it evolve, buy heroes, creatures and bring hell to your enemies, if you remove that you will have a dull game, right ? Right ? WRONG ! You are the hero, if you die it's game over, you will have to take care of him, you can recruit creatures on the field but there is not a lot so you will have to take care of them, there is a lot of enemies, strong bosses, you will have to take ca... ok i know you got it. With all that in mind you will have to think, a lot. Have strategies, try to not lose too much creatures, too much life, get stronger, get new items and weapons, upgrade your creatures, get gold, again and again and again. (and again) This game is as good as Heroes of Might and Magic, maybe better, but you will never know if you don't try it yourself.

Now I know why some people are hooked to HoMM!

Because this game is a remake of the game that started the genre before HoMM was created and you can call me captured! You control a royal treasure searcher who goes around the world doing quests and gathering armies while making sure there would be peace in all the corners of the land. The skill trees are well made and the fights are challenging. There are a lot of environments to look around and many places where you will be challenged in your skill even later in the game. The graphics are a bit cartoony and very pleasant to look at. The quests are well thought out and don't feel like unnecessary chores. There are even quests which you can solve without using violence which is always a plus in my book. Everything in this game is made to immerse you in its game world and if you like these kind of games even a bit it will likely hold you firmly in its grasp till the early morning hours. Highly recommended!

Not quite as good as HoMM, but solid.

If you've played a lot of Heroes of Might and Magic and are looking for something similar, this is the game for you. It's the best HoMM clone I have seen so far. I you have not played ane of the HoMM-games, I recommend you play them first and then move on to this. Now don't get me wrong, this is a solid game, although the universe and atmosphere won't drag you in like HoMM did. The graphics are good, and I have not noticed any bugs. The writing is mediocre and could use some work, but I don't feel like the story is that important in this game, as you will be mostly fighting. That brings me to the best part of the game: The Combat! The combat is as solid as solid can be. A great variety of creatures to command, great UI, great magic system (especially the "Chest of Rage", but you will find out more about that if you play the game), reasonably good AI that can challenge you and overall combat goodness. Although the rest of the game just feels a bit like ride to the next battle, they make it worth and once you get started with the fights, it's hard to put down the game.

Royal Treasure Hunter Wanted!

King's Bounty: The Legend is one of the finest remake of it's time and it is a well polished game with great replay value. It is a game what people of every age, - people with a young soul -, may love as it has a true fairy tale charm which is capable to grab you right from the beginning with its art and music, and then addictive gameplay, to then never let you go. A hero (a.k.a. Royal Treasure Hunter), a long fantasy fairy tale adventure (a.k.a. the Quest), dark woods, caves and icy plains to discover, a brave tiny army and hundres of evil enemies to face in a great Turn Based Strategy / chess-like game. The game itself is very long one with plenty areas to discover and dozens or even a hundred quests to complete. There's a lot to like in King's Bounty: The Legend as it is highly entertaining and a very-very-very addictive strategy and adventure game, which is successfully mixing the 21st century values with the design elements and atmosphere of the games of the 1990s.
