Another game with a great discount. Massive nostalgia from many years ago, it works well on my comp I5 build. should work on yours too. If you dont have this game you should get it. For its time the voice acting still stands up today with some of them being better and more realistic than some games released today. Worth it.
Nexus The Jupiter Incident begins with a well done cinematic that introduces you to the game's story, cinematics aren't frequent but the story is well told and the voice acting is well done throughout the game. You play as Marcus Cromwell and are given the job of patrolling the far corners of the solar system, keeping an eye out for rival corporations until new threats are revealed. Nexus is not an RTS, there are no resources to manage and you have the ability to pause the game while you issue orders to the ships you control and the fighters and bombers that can be housed in them. Battles give you a lot of tactical depth with weapons that can do more damage based on whether or not enemy ships have active shields, fighters can be told to attack enemy ships or to stay close to your large ships to shoot down enemy bombers and projectiles, you also have the option of targeting different systems or weapons on enemy ships. The power being given to different system on your ships can be manually controlled through slider bars, giving you further tactical control of your units. As you play through the campaign your crew members will gain experience and can rank up in combat, science, or engineering related fields which will help you in different ways, engineering well get you more resource points between missions that will allow you to better equip your ships. The game features a multiplayer mode that is likely going to be very difficult to find people to play with, there is a skirmish mode but the options are fairly limited. The focus of the game was put on the campaign and it is well made with a good variety of missions. Nexus is an excellent game that is well worth the price.
