Game description

Reviews for Pure Hold'em

Very poor and basic Poker Game. Plus Overpriced.

There are quite a few Texas Hold'Em games avaiable. This one is not one of the best, but surely is the most expensive and offering the worst business model. In the end, no matter the theme, all these games are about playing cards. And charging this much while offering nothing is return is just atrocious. The only good thing about Pure Hold'em is it's graphics - they do look nice, not great, but nice. BUT! There are way more bad things about it, besides it's price. First of all the game offers microtransactions - you can buy in-game chips for real cash. It would be ok in F2P game but not in full priced release. Going on - AI is simply stupid. You can easilly learn a playstyle that will almost always make it fold - no matter if you're bluffing or not. Beside core Poker mechanics there's almost nothing else to the game - and it's a shame especially considering games like Govenor of Poker or even Telltale's Poker Nights which all have some backstory to them. There is no way to interact with other players or observe their acting. There's no way to call the bluff. No option to look at previously played hands. Absolutely core Poker mechanics with poor AI for the price of a full release. Avoid.

A good looking but expensive poker game with few active players

Pure Hold'em is a good looking poker game with nice music. You can customize the look of the cards and chips, although some options are paid DLC. The game does some things to simulate the feel of being in a real game, such as having your cards lying in front of you and having you hold a button to look at them but also does things like having the cards dealt out and shuffled by invisible hands. The AI has a range of personalities, allowing them to play in different ways. The game supports online play where you go to a table and AI players drop out as human players join, however finding players is very difficult likely do to a combination of the price of the game and players seem to be having trouble connecting to the server after recent updates. When playing with others the game does not support any form of voice or text chat.
