A new horizon for Resident Evil Series!

Perhaps for many people, the fact that the "Resident Evil 7 " has become the most successful "Resident Evil" after "Shinji Mykami" is the existence of innovation and diversity in this release. Although many others say "Resident Evil 7 " is not even a "Resident Evil" game . But anyway, this is the latest version of "Resident Evil" and I have to admit that it's really a gorgeous, beautiful resident evil! Fortunately, this time Capcom has been successful with Resident Evil 7 , and i really hop in the next few years, future releases will be of the same quality and even better. I do not know you, but I personally wait to see what the main characters of this series will be in this new format. If at the end I want to explain the short story in a short sentence: Resident Evil 7 is a beautiful portrait of fear ...

Excellent Return to Horror Roots

This resident evil is a Major improvement over Resident evil 5/6. I Returns to the horror roots of the original whilst giving it a modern First-person perspective, which only adds to the scare factor of the game. However i cannot recommend this title if you're into the action packed set pieces of the previous titles as this game has few if any large action sequences. The plot is Okay but it could be better. The choices given to you in the story do not effect much and the Difficulty Setting differences between easy and normal really change the game. less tension and less scare factor.

A fresh feeling back to RE

I was first introduced to RE through 4. After playing 6 I was lost all interest and wasn't that hyped for this game. Once I heard of the first person point of view, I bought it to see what it was liked. The look and feel of the game dragged me in and I powered through it. I was disappointed that their wasnt really much of choice selection in the game. Replayability is kinda there. Speed runs of the game is really cool and the expansion do add more fun lil gamemodes.

Resident Evil feels like a game trying to be 3 other games at once.

I beat the game and had wildly conflicting thoughts about so much of the game. Only after beating the second boss did I really get what went on... The game is really trying to be 3 games at once. I know fans of the game try and deny it but the influences are very hard to deny. It's got bits of Resident Evil in it with the first mansion and how keys and such fit together. But at the same time, it feels very Alien Isolation and Outlasts with how the first boss constantly is on the prowl for you. Then you get to the second mansion and now it's really apparent they want to show off VR and like movies, I hate when they sacrifice something to show off that. You run into these bugs that will hover infront of your face and zip left and right like "look at me! I look crazy in VR right!?" I'm not sure they actually attack you in the back. Same with swarms of bugs, you can back into them and they won't hurt you (as far as I'm aware) but turn around or get fully into them? NOW they attack. Then it goes full F.E.A.R. with a evil little girl with super natural things going on (that they explain later). This makes sense since they apparently hired the writer of F.E.A.R. but it really makes it feel weird....and the fanservice that they throw in at the end was cringe-y as heck. Mix in a decision in the middle of the game that amounts to do you want the bad ending or good ending and little more? Frustrating. The first house is the best part with a lot of tension and some great ideas, and it declines fast from there. The finally is literally all combat with an assault rifle and bombs. Was not really impressed. The Demo provides a more scary experience! I'm not saying RE7 isn't scary, it can be pretty scary to some but it really just feels all over the place. The biggest problem is the enemy variety. There is none. There's 4 different 'mold' monsters bees and that's it. In RE1 from 1996 you have zombies +variants, dogs, giant spiders, snakes, bees, crows and of course Hunters. Nevermind it's remake and sequels where you got more things going on. If you want to include RE7's bosses as enemy types well then there's RE1 and it's sequels have bosses too. Madhouse mode (hard mode) is probably a better game over all with less ammo, different ways to acquire upgrades and limited saves. But you have to beat the game to unlock it so that's annoying. The game is very light on content. Resident Evil 3-6 offered alt game modes, most famously the Mercenaries mode...an arena mode is DLC in this game. No alternate characters, no different campaigns. There just isn't much replay value to the game because of this. So, for full price do I recommend this? No. I don't. It's a scary 8-9 hour romp with pacing problems, a dull protagonist, has no idea what it wants to be. I'd say Alien Isolation is a better game overall, it knows what it wants to be and it sticks to it.

Back too the roots

Resident Evil 7 brings it back to it's survival horror days. Resident Evil 7 is the best Resident Evil games since RE 4. Better than RE4 as survival horror game. RE7 has changed the perspective too first person which isn't a bad thing, actually a good decision in Capcom's part. Outlast is something people compared this game too before release. I was not a fan of Outlast, it felt boring after 2-3 hours, you couldn't fight back, something you could do on the old survival horror games from the 90's those were the games i loved. If you are a fan of horror games or survival horror games then you should buy this.
