Despite some flaws and bugs this game is fun to play once you get the hang out of it. If you like games like Far Cry 3 and Sniper Elite or liked the previous two entries in the series then you will probably enjoy this game. Its basically an kinda open world FPS with decent sniping mechanics and fun bullet time cams. Don't listen to the bad reviews out there which say that it has long loading times, on the PC it loads up faster than on consoles and I kinda think it was optimized badly for consoles anyway so the PC is the platform to go. If you want a straightforward action FPS with good sniping mechanics than this game will deliver despite its buggy problems and a few other issues, my verdict is 7 headshots out of 10 xD
This is yet another entry in the Sniper series and with each entry, we could see the games getting better. While 2 was huge improvement over 1, this one is slight improvement over 2, mostly because of the new reward/point system and approaches rather than quality. While the graphics and sound are fine, what is not good is the missing multiplayer which may or may not be released. Gameplay is not that bad and there was not much to improve over second game, mostly because it doesn't play like a straight stealth game or shooter and this is the example of a genre not working, mostly because it has identity crisis. It isn't a great shooter nor a stealth game and the design is pretty average. Overall, it is still improvement and if you're fan of the series, there is no reason not to get this one, since the quality of the series is still there. It depends whether or not you accept this quality. In the end, though, it is pretty average game made for niche audience and it should be looked upon as such - for niche audience that loves the series, it pretty much hits the nail on the head.
As for the game I am enjoying it. As compared to Ghost Recon Wildlands I think this is much better in some ways. GRW seemed rather repetitive where this game is feeling more unique. Also unlike GRW this game does not force you to work with an AI team. You work alone after the Prologue. Graphically the game looks really good. Rock formations and the like seem to work well for sniping. At the same time vegetation works well to conceal you for those upclose and personal kills. Then still there are cover points well placed for just going in guns blazing. Performance in this game seem really good. Below though I have added my System Specs so those reading this can have something to compare to. There is a guy with a 1080 GPU that is claiming he is getting 20FPS. Now I can not say that is not true for him but I have an inferior GPU and don't have that issue. Others have said the graphics look old and outdated. Again I can not say for them that it is not true but with my system specs they look really good to me. Right there with the games of today. Others talk about the story and the acting. Well I don't play Games for the acting. That said I cant comment as I don't watch cut screens ever. Story well seems to be fine to me. Slowly things are explained. My guess is you have to give it time to unfold.
The optimization seems to have improved since the open beta, runs smoother on my GTX 970 and I can maintain 60+ FPS on 1080p with a mixture of high and very high settings Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is a worthy successor of known stealth series, while it's doesn't bring too much to the known formula it's a nice approach. The gameplay this time was influenced by games like Farcry or Ghost Recon Wildlands, giving player more freedom in reaching his goal. Game is well optimized, but it has it's flaws, loading time can be frustrating but perhaps this may be fixed in the future, otherwise it's fun.
