Blurring the lines between cautious strategy and unbridled mayhem, SUPERHOT is the FPS in which time moves only when you move. No regenerating health bars. No conveniently placed ammo drops. It's just you, outnumbered and outgunned, grabbing the weapons of fallen enemies to shoot, slice, and maneuver through a hurricane of slow-motion bullets.Read full description
This is a short, but golden game! The enemies only move when you do, which doesn't sound that much of an edge, but really is. If you wanted to feel like Neo did, right down to seeing every enemy as a red body, and dodge the attacks of an army, then this is the game for you. Fighting in this way as so damn fun, that it can be played for weeks, without touching any other game! There's also a Tron-eske story in it, or matrix-eske for the young ones, but I didn't really cared for it, the solid gameplay on the other hand bought me instantly. While playing it, i looked like a sim from the outside. Moving around, like my ship was hit by proton torpedoes and constantly laughing. God i love this game...
I got nothing but good things to say about SUPERHOT! I liked very much how interactive the story was, the merciless killings which can be done with multiple ways over and over. The story was good, made you start thinking what's really going on. There's a lot of stages to complete, a lot of ways to mess around with your enemies. Weapons vary. From Shotgun, to Katana Sword. Stages can be re-played BUT keep in mind that you might need sometimes a strategy to kill your enemies, it's not always gonna be a walk in the park (and for sure you will get mad a couple of times for losing even at "easy" parts), plus Survival Mode as far as I know, but I never tried it. It offers a lot of gameplay, the killings are endless and with many ways they can be achieved. You can also record them in-game. I spent a lot of time playing SUPERHOT. It's not boring, and that's a good thing. Good price for such a great & different game. I was lucky and was gifted this game from a friend of mine. If I didn't already owned SUPERHOT, I'd definitely buy it at this sale! 5 Stars, for sure!
Superhot is an indie first person shooter running on the Unity engine. It has such a novel premise I'm surprised it hasn't been done before. In this game, time slows down to a near standstill when you stop moving. And progresses forwards when you move and when you fire. The development team implemented this very well. Bullets fly through the air and are very easy to spot among the white level textures. The game has this very Hotline Miami feel to it. You can throw your guns at enemies to stun them, you can throw objects to block bullets, and you can even shoot bullets in midair as they fly towards you. For a game that should feel slow and calculated, it feels very fast paced and rhythmic. Stylistically the game is very interesting. The UI resembles a DOS based operating system. Enemies resemble low poly characters from old video games. At the same time the environments look very crisp and everything stands out very well. If you're a fan of films like Tron you'll definitely like this game. However, all that being said the game is not perfect, and it's very hard for me to recommend. For the 25$ asking price there's very little content and you can mostly beat it in a handful of hours. The level design also maintains the same white sterile aesthetic and doesn't have that much variety to it. While the core gameplay is pretty solid it appeals to a certain kind of player. It appeals to the kind of player that wants to play a level over and over to try and achieve a perfect run. If you're that kind of player I do recommend this game a lot. But to everyone else I'd say wait a little for the dev to either create a level editor or lower the price.
Time flies when you move. This game is based on this innovative mechanic. This type of shooter you have not played yet. Keep in mind that this is a one-trick game. There is nothing more here. The campaign lasts for a maximum of 2 hours. Briefly, but just enough to be bored. And if you like it, you can still try the extra mission, Endless Mode or look for secrets in the main missions, which are interestingly hidden.
The game is awesome good fun for everyone, even those who'd consider themselves FPS challenged. Can't aim? No problem, we'll give you a whole day to line up your shot. Dodge a bullet... easy peazy when you're in control of time itself. Heck when you master the hotness you won't have to, you'll just blow minds away. And the graphics are superstylistically indie masterpieces of motion. Turns out all you need to make the next great jump in the genre is red, white and black and to have time and motion inexorably linked.
