Once upon a time...

I wanted to play an adventure and instead of grabbing Deponia I decided to go for this gem. Recently there has been the revolution of adventures and I quite like it! Especially this game has a great humor and many many references to pop culture. While the puzzles aren't too demanding their solution will still make you laugh a lot. I'd recommend playing this game without ever using the spacebar(it shows clickable items). Let's start with the gameplay! You will play as multiple characters while the story slowly unfolds. You can combine items in your inventory or with the environment. Also when having a dialogue with another character you can choose between multiple choices. All in all your classical adventure game, but very well done. If you are a fan of adventure games or haven't played one in ages, then please go ahead and purchase this title it is worth every penny!

Charming, Fun, and Flowing

The Book of Unwritten Tales features fantastic art design, beautiful graphics, and excellent voice work; the production values are superb! In addition, it is full of parody and loving jibes about popular fantasy works and tropes. The puzzles aren't difficult, only occasionally slowing down progress through the story, and interactive hotspots are displayed with a simple spacebar press, eliminating the need for pixel hunting. Definitely worth playing if you like adventure games, and the deluxe edition has plenty of extras, too!

Entertaining point and click adventure

The Book of Unwritten Tales is a budget german point and click gem, with such an entertaining story, you could almost feel like it has a soul. The game pokes fun at almost any RPG possible, and their clichéd natura with truly clever writing, great voice acting, especially compared to it's price. The game is gorgeous, pleasant to look at, and serves hours and hours of enjoyment. The downside is that the challenge isn't exactly there, it is a fairly easy game to play, and considering it's somewhat supposed to make you think, it hardly does. With it's puzzles anyway. Regardless, it is a charming and lovely game well worth the pricetag. This edition includes additional content, the standard fare you'd come to expect: Making of, soundtrack, you know, the digital goods.
