The Darkness II is a first-person shooter and a continuation of the Xbox 360 classic and is based on the comic series. In the game, we play as Jackie Estacado, who after the events of the first part suppressed the Darkness and became the godfather of the criminal Franchetti family. Unfortunately, this condition does not last long. The hero is attacked by the dark-skinned Brotherhood and, while standing on the brink of death, is forced to release her and take advantage of her power. The game is brutal and very fun to play, using the Darkness is very entertaining. Give it a shot!
If you're looking for a unique FPS experience then you need to look no further than The Darkness II. With a great unique setting taken from the popular graphic novel of the same name and the addition of supernatural powers and weapons this game is a great refreshment from all the military based FPS games that have come out over the last 10 years or so. The only issue is the short campaign (it only takes about 5 hours or so to get from start to finish even on high difficulty). The ending sets up for a sequel that unfortunately never came and most likely will never because the developers were bought up and no longer have the rights to the IP.
Once again welcome to the darkness! The Darkness II is a game of evil and goodness that allows you to look at action and FPS style with a different perspective. On the one hand, while you are fighting for your rightful reasons, on the other hand you are murdering your enemies and you reveal your bad side. This is your evil arm accompanied by your bad side (Demon Arms). There are so many ways you can kill your enemies by using these arms, except guns, in the vote. For example, you can catch them and cut them off or kill them with your cutting tools (especially throwing saw-like tools is a pleasure). You can also use these arms to defend yourself by hiding yourself. The Noir style graphics of the game are very successful and add a different atmosphere to the game, each square full of details and sometimes you can not stop yourself from standing by looking at your surroundings. The storyline, which is the continuation of the story, has been edited from time to time to allow you to come and go between reality and imagination. If I come to the expansions, first I can refer to the shortness of the game. You can finish 4-5 hours in normal difficulty level, or you can finish in 2-3 hours if you skip intermediate videos. But if you are playing to complete Vendetta side quests and Steam achievements, this can be an average of 15-20 hours. Secondarily, your enemies are stationed at fixed positions or run directly over them, making them easy hunts, which allows you to easily reach out to your superior even if you are playing in the toughest difficulty. On the other hand, the weapons and defense methods used by the various types of enemies make up for it. Finally I recommend you to play because of the different gameplay and atmosphere of the game ..
I came to The Darkness 2 having never read the comics. I actually only found out it originated from a comic book after I finished it. I didn't know anything about anything in this world, but the game looked awesome and I had my expectations high. I was not disappointed. The Darkness 2 is a linear fps game, and it brings awesome new things to the genre. You not only control your standard gun (like in any fps), but you also simultaneously control two tentacles (which are the Darkness manifesting itself). Controlling all these three things at the same time is just a blast. The tentacles have plenty of different moves to help you (they can recover your health or ammo depending of the move you kill enemies with, for example). Now, I want to praise the technical side of this game. Not only it looks absolutely amazing (with an awesome art style), it is VERY optimized. And I mean it. I could play this on a potato with very decent settings so, even if you don't have a beast of a pc, just go for it! The Darkness 2 is an awesome game for people who have never read the comics and fans alike (from what I've heard). It's innovative and fun, but you'll finish the campaign pretty quickly (it took me 11 hours to 100% the game). Grab this one and have a blast.
The Darkness II is an enjoyable FPS based off of the comic book series of the same name. I've had some experience with the comics, but not with the original game. I got this game as apart of a 2K Games Bundle, so didn't totally know what to expect going in. By the end, however, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the game. It's a bloody jaunt of revenge as you play a mafia aficionado trying to get back your beloved that was taken from you. However, you have powers of The Darkness that consumes and drives you, pushing you along to continue ripping shooting and kill all the things that are placed before you. The story was very enjoyable and held plenty of comic book charm. However, it felt much too short. After getting your upgrades for The Darkness and seeing all the weapons, it was basically over. There's a few nice twists I didn't expect that kept me excited about the game all throughout, as well. Overall, it's fun and enjoyable gameplay, but I can't say that this game is a must. It's worth watching through a let's play if you're curious, but if you enjoy The Darkness franchise than I would say it's definitely worth your time.
