The Escapists provides the opportunity of experiencing a light-hearted insight into everyday prison life and, as is the case with all inmates, the main objective is escape! While under the careful watch of the guards, players will need to go about their daily duties clandestinely secreting useful objects from under their captors’ noses. Potential escapees will learn how to craft seemingly innocuous items into useful tools and even weapons as well as using them to execute cunning diversionary tactics.Read full description

The Escapists - you either love it or you find it boring. Simple as. It has some fairly repetitive gameplay and rather brutal mechanics, something people usually complain about, but if you want a puzzle game that isn't your average Tomb Raider knockoff, I highly suggest it. It, at a first glance, doesn't seem like the type of game you'd classify as a "puzzle" game, but it definitely fits the bill, requiring a lot of preplanning, patience and looking up wiki pages in order to plan the perfect escape. Now, let me tell you, that sounds easier on paper, but 1 wrong move and you're back to square one, so make sure you're not the type who quits whenever they lose, or you're gonna basically be quitting every time you feel anywhere close to victory as you learn that there's another obstacle in your way.
The concept of the game is simple: escape prison. However, it later becomes a "use the wiki" simulator, so you will need an internet browser to complete it. Anyway, jokes aside, the game is great. Free extra prisons! Alcatraz! The A-Team!... James Bond?! The different prisons doesn't just differ in looks but also in strategy to escape, in difficulty and routine in the prison, which makes every single prison so different that you wont get too bored from prison to prison. The music in the game is awesome, and even though the game can be very tedious i do really recommend it. PROS: *The gameplay is good, can be a little boring on an early day in-game, but the escapes make it worth the wait. *Graphics are pixels, but they are good pixels for the size. *Funny dialogue here and there. Also occasionally a guy might want you to beat him up, saying how he hates himself because of something he did, adding to that. *A lot of maps to play, plus custom ones. *Difficult but not too hard. *PRISON EDITOR! It is a little hard to use though. *You can make your own dialogue if you don't want the default. *Sequel coming soon! HYPE! CONS: *Can be difficult if you don't know what you're doing, so you will likely need the wiki, *As said, can be boring early-game. *A few bugs here and there, for instance on Camp Epsilon I always get shot while in the cell, making escape impossible. *Only 9 different characters to play as. *No multiplayer despite promised on Kickstarter. Overall this game is very great. Anyone who likes puzzle game should at least give it a shot. Or you could wait for the sequel!
Ever wondered what you would do if you're locked inside a prison with other prison mates together with many Officers standing by looking out for you guys? Trying to hatch a plan to escape behind their backs of course! This is a game where you can try to team up with your prison mates in trying to escape the prison but might also end up biting your own hand from your mate's betrayal. The game allows you to take up various materials and try to combine them in order to form them into a 'tool' for breaking out of the prison cell. I have really enjoyed playing this game a lot since the game has a lot to offer. Each day, you can decide on training your physical statuses, such as strength and agility. Or you could hatch your plan by preparing various constructs in different areas to make your getaway. However, Officers are on the lookout so you have to be careful not to get caught and every morning, Officers will randomly pick some mates to do an investigation check to ensure that no one has anything under their pockets and cell. There are times when you are selected too and you will have to place them elsewhere such as above your own cell, whereby there are vents just above and you can place them there with a step ladder and a make-shift vent removable construct. I can play this and enjoy it a lot since this game isn't generally hard but it can get harder as you progress further into the game by escaping the prison only to be caught and further locked in a much more 'tightened' prison than before. I have probably only escaped once and that was only on the first prison break venue. Staying and playing at the 2nd prison venue was more my style since it was not too easy for me and also not too hard. There are many choices to take and not much that restricts you compared to the harder difficulty in the later venues. I love this game a lot.
This is a game where the aim of the game is to escape from a prison. You will spend 2-3 hours figuring out how to escape successfully. The difficulty is then increased loads, and you find yourself repeating the same tactic on a different map, not to mention that lots of features are sold as separate, dlc packs. You will quickly get bored, and for that reason I don't find the escapists too good. Alternatively you can get prison architect, which also has a good escape mode.
I beat some levels though it gets insanely crazy. Plus very repetitive level over level quest over quest, and even though you have the same goal every time it's hard to play a game like that. The idea and creativity was great so was the online content and gameplay. To wrap it up I didn't exactly enjoy it though doesn't say you have to too. I fully supported my two friends who went to get the game and I support you too.
