Whispering Willows is a short game compared to others, could probably be completed in 3 hours or so but I was very thorough and paused to eat tea.Its a good game, well executed, well designed - right down to its puzzles, lighting, sound, and two ways of movement through the game. I think the only downside to this game was the art in the scenes that weren't game-play - like the still images of art - weren't as higher quality as the rest. BUT it wasn't a huge distraction or let down, that's just me nitpicking. The core mechanic of astral projection is excellent. The story and characters are decent and the music is pretty good too. I was the initially suspect about the confusion of the layered map but it wasn't too bad in the end. So all in all it is well worth a play.
If you like 2D adventures with a "dark" atmosphere and a curious story, with paranormal touches, you will surely like it. Elena goes in search of its missing father to an old mansion which hides a history related to its ancestors and that little by little is gaining sense. The only drawback I see is that it's all very chewed, very much guided. It has a brutal soundtrack and visually I love it !!
This game is a really unique puzzle and semi horror game where you only use your keyboard. It is a story of a girl who's finding his dad that have gone missing for days. And you are set in a creepy old mansion that has a dark secret on it. This game is highly recommended for those who love indie horror game.
This is a beautiful puzzle game & aesthetically pleasing for the eye, the how story behind it story really gives a bit of a drive to keep going. the whole characteristics of this game are great the only two downfalls I have are; I wish the game was much longer & there was a bit more of the horror aspect. All in all it is a very good & beautiful game.
Whispering Willows is a cool new indie with a horror-sided part. You take control on both the character - Elena - and her shadow form in your journey to find your beloved father. One cool thing about it is that each other room is out of light, just liked you would see in the AAA horror like Outlast, in order to create a feeling of uncertainty and scare. The graphics are impressive and everything is drawn in a good manner, while the music fits with the title. The puzzles are ok and some are quite a challenge, thanks to the power to switch between you and your phantom form.
