Game description

XCOM® 2: War of the Chosen ist die Erweiterung zum preisgekrönten Strategiespiel des Jahres 2016.

XCOM® 2: War of the Chosen bietet umfangreiche neue Inhalte.

Polishing the crap

War of the chosen fixes many things and makes the game a bit more playable but it did not fix the most important issues, the totally dumb AI and the laughable, proven rigged random. For those who were on edge in loving and hating the game in the same time, this addon might turns the scale to the love side but those were annoyed by the mechanisms and simplicity of xcom this won't change a damn thing. Especially on higher difficulties it's set to torture you, instead of giving interesting enemy AI to make the game difficult they simply just forcibly kill your soldiers no matter distance or cover or chances but of course not all your soldiers as firaxis want you to keep playing and buying every dlc... watch this with subtitles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nStfflz5zKQ and you will see the point.

A great game to get you thinking

I have to say that when this game came out recently I did not even know of its existence but at the time I tried it, I fell in love, this genre I do not like much because its games are meh, but this XCOM 2 changed the way I see this game, in this we have to dominate a planet with strategies, and you can also attack and feel the commander of an army and attack a planet with races of extraterrestrials rarisimas, the only one that can give you that feeling is XCOM 2, graphics, weapons the music you hear when you attack everything is simply epic and makes you get into the environment more.

Great DLC to get!

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen is a great DLC that makes the gameplay more interesting. It introduces new locations and mission objectives. We can fight, among other things, in abandoned cities, which became targets of biological weapons attacks during the first invasion of aliens, in underground tunnels and in areas where vegetation was transformed by foreign technology. DLC also introduces new skill for soldiers, as well as implementing the SITREP system, which randomly modifies some elements of the mission, so that each game offers some different challenges. Very interesting indeed.

Incredibly huge expansion... with some huge bugs.

War of the Chosen is incredible expansion. Froget the laughably short and with barely any content "huge" expansion for one of the most overhyped RPGs in history. This is it. This expansion does what every good expansion should do - it reinvents the gameplay. It is huge overhaul, to the point it feels like entirely new game. Strategic overlay is even more detailed and complex with more info, new classes are mindblowingly awesome and the chosen, while incredibly cheesy, are actually welcome addition and I would love to see more games taking hints from Shadow of Mordor with its great nemesis system. It adds a lot of meat to the game. There are also bonds, new perks, classes and enemies, which makes this game even bigger than it was. This expansion also gives a lot of fixes - Alien Rulers are no longer OP and only react to action in their line of sight. While in my opinion it is too big of a nerf, I still think it is better than Ruler getting action every time you do anything. Cheesing them was not fun to beat them. Now at times it might feel too easy, but there is still hope they will fix it a little. Spark is now actually useful with weapon mods and can finally do some damage, instead of just being a worthless piece of robotic mess. There are also a lot of performance fixes and while some things got downgraded (mostly the ragdoll/physics), it is barely noticable (unless you look for it), but the game feels much smoother now. The only bad thing about this expansion really is that it comes with its own share of problems. While I can survive without as much 2nd wave options as there were in Enemy Within (sadly, here you have some small things, like double the timer etc.), what is hard pill to swallow are crashes and freezes. While it is not bad, it can happen even on the starting screen, because the game feels like it. It might be typical "launch" issue that will get fixed soon, though. While the price of 35GBP looks unreasonable for someone who didn't play it, this expansion packs a punch and is rich with content. If you survived buggy launch of XCOM 2, you will survive this one as well, Commander. While the delay was disappointing, I want to say I don't hold a grudge or anything - things happen, but the price was much better than what other sites wanted, so thanks for dealing with it quickly, GMG staff! Also, as a side note, be prepared for huge download, because this weights 30GB! Yes, my internet connection was crying the whole time it was downloading. Overall, really, really great expansion that I can't recommend enough. Without bugs, it could've been 5 stars, but with bugs I can't squeeze more.
