A Guide to the Best Warframes For Beginners – Making Your First Choice Seems Scary, It Doesn’t Have to Be!
So you’ve decided to help out the Tenno and fight the good fight, but which of the Warframe Warframes is best for you? With all of the choices presented to the player it can be a bit overwhelming to know where to start, after all, the game itself is pretty intimidating to begin with. Well, that’s where we come in, we’ve got a list of the top five Warframes for a beginner. Some of these are easier to get than others, but all of them will help you become a powerhouse and get to that high-level content faster.
Excalibur
Excalibur is, surprisingly enough, a Warframe based around a sword. It is an incredibly mobile fighter and a perfect choice for a brand-new Tenno, as it is one of the top Warframes. They have a passive ability that boosts their skill with a sword. It increases both their attack speed and damage and lets them dance around the battlefield in a balletic dance of incredibly impressive swordplay. The basic abilities are easy to use, look cool, and are exactly what you want if you like cutting enemies up. You can even choose Excalibur as soon as you start the game, so why wait?
Rhino
Rhino is more or less what you would expect. A classic tank of a class that just wants to push through everything with pure power rather than anything more tactful. Their passive ability allows them to do a powerful superhero landing, then inflicts damage and knocks down any enemies near the landing spot. Rhino is a powerhouse and has abilities like charging towards enemies, roaring and stomping. There couldn’t be a better name for it. You can unlock Rhino by farming Jackal on Venus.
Volt
The naming conventions of the Warframe is a touch too on the nose, but it makes it easier to keep up with. Volt is an electricity-themed Warframe and another of the starter choices. It has one of the coolest passive abilities, one that allows them to build up static electricity as they move around the ground. This, then, adds extra electricity damage to the next attack or ability. They have a good mix of offensive and defensive abilities and a great panic button in the form of Discharge, which hits anything in your vicinity. You might say that Volt is shockingly good, and one of the best Warframe Warframes.
Loki
Much like the god of mischief himself, the Warframe Loki is all about deception and being a sneak. Loki can cling to walls much better than the other Warframes—ten times better in fact for a full minute. The abilities of Loki are all designed to confuse and distract the enemies rather than damage them, so you should be playing with a team most of the time. You can gain access to this trickster by hunting the Hyena Pack to get the blueprints to unlock one of the top Warframes for beginners.
Atlas
In mythology, Atlas ended up with the weight of the world on his shoulders, literally. In Warframe, Atlas harnesses the power of Earth in order to lay the smackdown on anything that is foolish enough to stand in its way. Atlas has a passive ability that effectively makes it harder to kill for every enemy you take down. The ultimate ability summons two elementals who will deal damage while alive, then heal Atlas when they are taken down. You can unlock this one of the top five Warframes by following along with The Jordas Precept.
