“1953 – KGB Unleashed” is based on real projects conducted by the Ministry of State Security of the USSR (the former KGB). During that time they pushed the limits of human endurance, testing for the possibility of telepathy, as well as researching the psychological impact of fear on the human brain. The photo-realistic visual style of “1953 – KGB Unleashed” recreates the USSR of the fifties: the underground shelter’s interior is constructed using real Soviet military plans, and the materials found there are based on historically valid documents.

I'm not really that much of a fan of the point and click type games, but I am a man of challenging puzzles that push you to your limits of critical thinking. Live in a world of fear as you unravel the mysteries of this secret underground bunker of human experimenting and put the links together to unlock the path to the next area. Make sure you pay attention to every detail and read all of the memos. The game definitely provides a creative and unique environment to solve some difficult puzzles where you have to backtrack to previous rooms and pick up things that you didn't notice the first time. What this game lacks is a definitive ending. I felt the flow of the game decreased after making it to the dark basement. From this point, the game became too easy and clear as if it was a rushed job to finish the game and lacked in creativity with the beginning of the game.. I left myself with more questions at the end than all the places I ended up getting stuck. I was also disappointed in some of the choices of direction. For instance, instead of smashing down the brick wall that taunted you from the moment you clicked on it, you end up smashing down some other random wall.
This definitely is an odd game. I never have been into ‘click’ game but I thought I would have I try at kgb. I have played it for some time now and in my opinion this is not a very good game. I was stuck a lot of times where I would click on everything in the room and still couldn’t find the thing I was supposed to find. It’s definitely a hard game but I suppose this game I very good if you like this kind of games. But for me it was a bit boring and lacked action or strategic think because I would just click all over the roam. Overall I think people who like this sort of games would love it but I know now for certain these games were not build for me.
