Valve's WWII Couter Strike

ToddMann

Day of Defeat: Source is a great WWII fps that plays a lot like CS:S. The player base has remained constant throughout the past couple of years and the game remains as fun to play as ever. The graphics look like they're on the older side, but aren't that bad. If you like multiplayer shooters that have you playing as Allied and Axis soldiers in World War II, than this game is definitely for you. If you like Valve games, than this game is definitely for you. If you like Counter Strike: Source, than this game is definitely for you. I would recommend it to anybody. 10/10

Remake of a mod of a mod... from Valve

lconanl

Do you like World War 2 (as an important historical event, you maniac)? Do you like multiplayer first person shooters? Do you like Valve (and anything approved by Valve)? And most importantly, do you think you would enjoy spending countless hours capturing strategically placed points, camping, blowing stuff up and generally acting like a soldier in an actual war (with nazis involved)? Then this game is for you!

A great WWII game

shadyfan0

This has got to be one of my favourite WWII games out there due to me being a fan of games and the history of ww2! THE GRAPHICS ARE AMAZING on mac and windows and the gameplay is absolutely fun to play I really do recommend getting this game and maybe even mod it or download some maps for it!

WW2 game from Valve

Day of Defeat is a fps very well made and it was ported to source engine year s later, even it isn't that popular these days, the game itself is pretty cool, an endless fight between the Allies and the Axis.If you have a group of friends whose like that style of game, you can host a server and have some fun time together.

World War 2 multiplayer mayhem before the Call of Duty train

mugaro

Starting out with the drawbacks first: It started out as a community mod for halflife 1. I used to play this a lot back in the day, but now I think it's run its course. World War 2 is over in video games and capture the flag/assault the point is a cliché in multiplayer now. The pros: This game is a lot of fun, has achievements, trading cards, an active multiplayer community that can be a lot more "newb friendly" than a lot of other multiplayer FPS games. Both sides are pretty close to symmetrical except for a few minor differences in guns and starting points. Some maps see the Axis playing defense & the Allies playing offense, or vice versa. While the objectives might be the same, the maps are asymmetrical so that it tends to feel like one team is on defense & the other on offense. Most servers limit the number of deployable machine guns & sniper rifles because they are defenders (read: noob campers) and can make the game play stale if everyone is defending & no one is on offense because of that. However, if you can sneak around and get behind enemy lines, whacking defensive enemies with a shovel or a rifle headbutt is hilarious and most degrading to them. Since everyone respawns at a certain point, there are usually good hiding places that you can wait in the darkness for the next spawn wave to come out, then sneak up behind them & rack up 4 or so kills before they realize you're behind enemy lines & turn around to get you. Conclusion: this game is fun. Get it separate or buy the valve pack, play it, love it.
