Taking control of either E’lara, a ranged weapon expert, or Caddoc, a master swordsman, you and your partner will descend into a dark and foreboding world for an unforgettable cooperative experience. As you travel deep within the world of Kala Moor, you will use a variety of deadly weapons, powerful spells, and cover tactics to face down wave after wave of vicious enemies. It will take the combined efforts of two great warriors to explore menacing dungeons, overgrown ruins, and downtrodden towns … and discover the secrets of the Demon’s Forge.

Key Features:

  • An Unreal Dark Fantasy: Powered by the Unreal 3 engine, the dark world of Hunted comes to life as a third-person fantasy game with the intensity and action of a modern-day shooter. Hunted boasts stunning visuals with breath-taking vistas and foreboding underground worlds.

  • Co-op at a Distance: Combine E’lara’s ranged attacks with Caddoc’s melee expertise to pull off gruesome co-op kill moves, perform special attacks, and heal one another from anywhere on the battlefield. The characters’ differing combat expertise allows a player’s strategy to vary from one play through to the next.

  • Descend into Dungeon Depths: Work with your co-op partner to discover hidden paths and solve the devious puzzles that block your way. Explore menacing dungeons, overgrown ruins, and terrorized towns to discover treasure and powerful upgrades.

Reviews for Hunted: The Demons Forge

A big surprise in a stereotyped genre

A lovely not well known game featuring one of the best co-operative gameplay mechanics I've seen so far. Hunted may look like the generic hack and slash with some RPG elements, but it's way more than that. To start with, characters are awesome. If you take the time to look at some screenshots you may think you know the stereotyped characters from the first look, but they are actually the opposite of what you have in mind for these kind of games. The same happens with the whole game. This game is insanely fun when you play it with a friend. One should take the place of the warrior going berserk while the other remain in the back throwing arrows with the elf. Gameplay mechanics are deeper than that, and while it is not hard at all co-operate during the battles is required to survive. An unexpected journey through lots of well designed maps, with variated graphics and secrets. Hunted is worth your money and your friends' too.

This game brings you tons of fun, quite frenetic most of the times and with a very innovative change: you can switch between the guy and the girl from checkpoint to checkpoint. The sound is awesome, and so are the graphics. There's also an editor where you can create your own levels, and play them COOP with your friends, it's great! The enemy designs are also incredible, specially the final boss. It's really breathtaking! Replay value guaranteed!

Play in co-op only.

Playing this game is in co-op is the only way to enjoy it. Otherwise, you might have a hard time enjoying it. What's Hunted: The Demons Forge? From the very begging I had a feeling that this is a Gears of War clone game. The only different is Hunted have fantasy setting, and Gears of War is made much better. The story in Hunted is decent, graphics are not outstanding, music is normal. The number of types of monsters could be a little bigger, but there are still a few of them. Instead of having fun in story mode and playing it with friend, I had much more fun building my own dungeons. You can select type of stage, type of monsters, how strong you want them to be, bosses etc. That sounds like a great fun and it is, but it would be even more fun if this dungeon builder could use more freedom - it's veeery limited. You can use it only for something like "horde" mode, where you kill waves of monsters. That's it. If you have someone to play with, you can't miss it, but if you plan to play this alone - give up.

Not very innovative

Hunted: The Demons Forge is a hack-and-slash game and it doesn't even pretend it isn't. You will be playing either as a tough male warrior or an elven female archer. The first one is strong and resilent, made for hand-to-hand combat, and the other shoots fast as a machine gun with her bow. The cool thing about the game is that it allows you to switch the character during your game, so you are not bound by your initial choice. Unfortunately that's about all about how innovative it is. There have been many similar games already, some were worse and some were better. So if you are not a fan of the genre, you are fine without this game. But if you're into similar hack-and-slash games, you should add it to your collection.
