Game description

PAYDAY 2 is an action-packed, four-player co-op shooter that once again lets gamers don the masks of the original PAYDAY crew - Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains - as they descend on Washington D.C. for an epic crime spree.

The ARMORED TRANSPORT DLC is the first DLC pack for PAYDAY 2 and lets players do every heisters dream – robbing armored transports, full of valuables, right in the middle of Washington D.C.

Up to four friends co-operate on the heists, and as the crew progresses they have a chance to unlock an even more rewarding job – doing a classic train robbery. New weapons, weapon modifications, masks, patterns and materials have been added to let players continue to build and customize their own guns and gear.

Key Features:

  • 2 new heists spread over 6 locations – The players are offered two new heists spread over six different locations. Hit the armored transports downtown, in parks, underpasses, crossroads and in the harbor area of D.C. If the player is lucky, the robberies will lead to an even bigger reward – doing a train robbery to secure a valuable military prototype.

  • 3 new weapons of choice – players can now enjoy three new weapons of mass heisting. For the stealth artist we have the charming Gruber Kurz pistol, Tanks will enjoy the agile Commando 553 Assault rifle and only a lunatic could love the classic Swedish K SMG. Together with over a dozen new weapon modifications, everyone will have something to play with.

  • 4 new masks, patterns and materials – Four new masks are added to the game, themed around four of the most famous American presidents. Combined with the all-new American themed patterns and materials, players will be able to cook up some pretty awesome looking mask designs. Bodhi would be proud.

  • New achievements, free community mask and more – A dozen of new achievements are added for players to take care of. Those that join the Official PAYDAY 2 group on Steam will also receive another bonus item in the shape of a new hockey mask – inspired from one of the best Heist flicks of all time. For those that work hard while robbing the armored transports, a curious Easter egg can be found.

Straightforward jobs with varying difficulties

Armored Transport gives 6 new missions, 5 of them are about the same with some environmental changes. The list is: Transport: Train Heist Transport: Harbor Transport: Downtown Transport: Overpass Transport: Park and the most difficult job: Transport: Crossroads Crossroads is (personally) considered the most difficult out of all because not only is it a crossroad, hence you're potentially attacked in all 4 directions, but the sniper spawns can become a very painful sting in your team. This is the heist that splits the veterans whom know how important cover is, to the newbies whom are left flapping in the wind. The notable features include Transport Underpass's fog map, which reduces your line of sight considerably, and Transport Downtown, with a straight path to a high point for sniper positioning. Transport: Train Heist is now a separate heist, but you'll have to search the previous Transport jobs for the blueprint loot to gain access to it. It's a large map, with Stealth possibilities for all your Splinter Cell lovers (although i discourage this - easier to go loud). Expect to be swarmed if you're not careful. Weapon-wise, you'll receive the Commando 553 rifle, the Swedish K SMG and the Gruber Kruz pistol. The Commando 553 can be considered a sidegrade to the Car-4, and can be considered as a top-tier weapon, considering it's high ammo pool, damage counter and accuracy. It's my personal favorite weapon if I have to choose a Rifle. The Swedish K SMG is a decent loud SMG, but really shines as a concealment weapon. It's able to reach high enough concealment, while still having auto-fire capabilities to ensure that your target is dead. The Gruber Kruz (with similarities to the Bond's Walther PPK) is one of the best stealth pistols you'll get. It even works for loud purposes if you're inclined to it. Overall, you'll get good weapons, fun heists, and cool masks (Presidents). A good haul for a single DLC, comparing to other DLCs that Overkill has released. Always remember that if you want to play the heists only, you can still join other people's rooms.

Great addition to an already great game

Armored transport heists add a refreshing change of pace to the game. Not only is stealth not an option, the entire heist can be done in 15 minutes (assuming you ignore the plans for the armored train heist, which is also great fun). My only complaint is that the best part of robbing armored transports, actually taking out the transport with a rocket launcher, is not part of the gameplay.

Stealth has its place in payday 2, but sometimes playing without subtlety can be cathartic. This DLC adds some quick armoured transport heists, where you just go in guns blazing. It also allow access to the train heist, which is one of the few higher payouts available to those who don't feel up to multi-part stealth missions.

Start the Killing

This DLC include some new weapons and masks, so far so good as a side dish of new heists, worth to get those if you are enjoying this game. Back to the 2 new heists, the first one is armored transport heist which is a regular heist, and the other one is a hidden train heist. The armored transport heist is a short, one way, simple minded heist (or likely a war). You may think of it as a longer Escape stage in the base game, back to some basic shoot, loot & run. So what's the point of this DLC? The hidden train heist. Train heist is one of the most challenging and epic heist at Payday 2, the map design is superb, all heisters shouldn't miss out. But as a hidden stage, train heist cannot be selected directly at crime.net, it requires players to obtain a hidden item at the armored car in order to play through the train heist. Well, as an experienced heisters, looting is your usual duty, you may think this is easy to get the ticket through train heist. But you are all wrong. The hidden item is a randomly appear item at the armored transport heist, which means you may not get the item even all safe deposit box has opened. This setting makes the armored transport heists more durable but annoying at the same time, kind of ruining the idea of robbing armored car. If you love challenges, this DLC could fulfill what you need. But if you are a easy bored person, you'd better keep away from it.

Amazing stuff

The A.T. DLC is a great and unique addition to the heists that Payday 2 already has to offer. It adds 6 new heists and one of them is my personal favorite, the train heist. Finding this heist in one of the trucks brings me pure joy and happiness. The weapons are also great. The best weapon is hands down the AR. It looks, sounds and kills those cops pretty cool. The Swedish K SMG also looks amazing. The 4 added presidential masks are hilarious to see too! In short: This "Heat-lookalike" DLC is the best dlc so far and should be bought by everybody who owns Payday 2!
