It sounds silly at first, but believe me, during the battles, it is quite intense, and even scary at times. It isn't super long, but every single minute is fun, and none of that is spent walking toward a goal! It means less freedom, unfortunately, but also, more focus on the story, which is a refreshing change from the crime drama. It1s not essential for the main game, but i recommend checking this out anyway.
If you've finished Sleeping Dogs and are still craving more out of the game, the Nightmare in North Point DLC is a fairly decent addition. It lacks more of the open-ended game play of the original, but it makes up for it with a campy B-movie aesthetic and a liberal interpretation of Chinese folklore. The new enemy types don't really add much depth to the combat; most of the appeal draws from re-visiting old haunts, encountering some familiar faces and soaking in the atmosphere. It's worth your time if you want more Sleeping Dogs, but isn't required to feel like you've gotten everything out of the game that you could.
having really enjoyed sleeping dogs i decided to buy some DLC (i normally avoid DLC as its normally not worth it). The nightmare in northpoint DLC is actually very good and does a good job of recreating chinese cinema with the hopping vampires and style of clothing. its not a long DLC 3-4 hours to complete 100% with the achievements but its worth its cost
Expansion add completly crazy new story to sleeping dogs universe. In Nightmare in North Poin you must fight ghosts of undead army, and defeat their leader to save city. Its very fun add-on with many great moments but unfortunately most of the time is just repetitive beating almost the same enemies. So in summary its good dlc with completly independet from main plot story.
This DLC is the best DLC of Sleeping Dogs. It adds lots of new gameplay and storyline content with new fighting moves and locations. Whilst these additions are welcome it cannot help the fact that this DLC can be finished within two hours and a completionist can probably finish it in four hours with all the new cars and clothing. All in all this is a good DLC with an interesting change in the storyline and the new combat moves and locations make this a worthwhile buy if you enjoyed Sleeping Dogs. However if you did not enjoy Sleeping Dogs you should still consider picking this one up
