Agent Awesome -- a brand new strategy game for PC and Mac -- is the debut title from Chaos Industries. As Agent A., you must use your tactical expertise to plan the perfect strategy and storm through the building of your former employer, Engineering Vicious Ideas Labs (E.V.I.L.).
Each of the 12 levels has been designed with both a combat and a stealth approach in mind -- and both styles bring the same rewards. Agent Awesome offers deep tactical gameplay that mixes elements of the tower offense and stealth genres.
Play as the title character who -- after a night out with his pal, Michael Anger -- gets drunk-dared into showing he is the ultimate badass by storming and eliminating all the middle management of his former employer, E.V.I.L.
You must clear all 12 floors of the building while fighting or dodging hilarious enemies such as flying sharks and kombat koalas. Everything in the game has been tailored with the objective of making the player crack a smile.
12 levels of pure awesomeness!
Explosions, bullets, action, murder . . . and koalas!
Deep tactical gameplay
Kill everyone . . . or not! It´s your choice. (Gamers love choices!)
Lots and lots of weapons . . . and they’re upgradable!
Everything, literally everything will make you laugh. (We are cool like that!)
Designed by Chaos Industries and developed by Chundos Studio, Agent Awesome will become your new favorite game.
I like it. It looks a lot like a game I was addicted to back in the late 90s or early 2000. I don't remember the name of the game I had a lot of fun playing it . I know some people say it lacks humor but it has a few lines that will actually make you smile. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that some menus are not entirely visible (perhaps due to it being a port from mobile). I will still rate it high despite those small menu glitches because the overall experience was positive (at least for me).
When playing games like Agent Awesome one has to approach with a sense of whimsy and care free nature. Why? Well, the developer did make a game but it's game that doesn't take itself too seriously, and that feels true even in some features of the game itself. The game aims to be funny and again not be too serious. There are a lot of pop culture references, cheesy dialogue, and wacky enemies. If this is your type of thing, you might wanna keep reading. Now before we continue any further, I feel like I should just get this outta the way and say that Agent Awesome is an App ported to PC. Ergo there is no resolution control, and many other features missing that you would expect in a PC title. It's important to note the game doesn't natively support widescreen either. The menus and entire control scheme is completely based off a touch pad screen. This isn't my favorite thing in the world but that is just the way things are. I will say that I haven't really seen many games like Agent Awesome, whether that is a good or bad thing is still up to debate. It works great for the mobile market but feels a little lacking on PC. Keep in mind though, that this is a game purely for stupid fun sake. This isn't Skyrim or anything. It's called Agent Awesome. What do you expect? So if you're looking for something different, weird, and maybe even a little stupid fun at times, check out Agent Awesome.
Agent Awesome is a comedy strategy game where, after an amusing opening montage, Agent Awesome is dared to take down an evil corporation by killing the guards and employees in his way. To play the game you hit tab, which will bring up a map showing you enemies and places to move, once a spot is selected (the map is basically like a board game with guards that have patrol routes) your character will begin walking, you can hold S to stop or W to run. To kill enemies you have to select a weapon while on the map screen and choose the enemy icon, you will then either instantly kill them or enter into a fight where you trade attacks until one of you runs out of health. The gameplay just isn't fun and doesn't require much strategy, even though they did put in a variety of weapons and enemies. There are only 12 levels and you can get through them very quickly. New weapons can be bought and upgraded in between missions. Apart from the opening cutscene the game constantly tries to be funny but that's just another thing that is isn't very good at.
This is more like first impressions than a real review, but I'll tell you what I think of it so far. First of all, the game has lots of raunchy humor in it. The setting is very much an over exaggerated version of James Bond. You'll see sexualized women, menacing villains and cringy one-liners. You will escort Agent Awesome (AA) through the levels by choosing a route from the map view with your mouse and then seeing how it pans out from the game view. In the game view you still have the possibility to interact by shooting enemies that come across you or by changing your plan midway. The graphcis are ok, not as nice as in Marvellous Misstake (which is a better game than this) but suits the game otherwise. Sound design is also mediocre, at times even better. Controls work although it took some getting used to that you cannot directly control the agent at movement phase. All in all, a decent game. Might be worth the asking prize.
It was an ok decent game. I wouldn't put it up there with greats. It has moments of comedy and drama to move the plot along but doesn't go too much into sustaining substance. It can be clunky at times and could bother the gamer to the point where they'll just close the game and never go back to it. It feels unfinished and could have been much better than the final result. Overall, $10 is not with the price of admission. Pick it up at a discount only.
