Good old times. The game has the same charm as its AvP brothers from the same period. It is a bit more difficult than other games today but this is what made the game so good, Because it has high replayability, especially through the 3 Campaigns that all have something special to the species. In my opinion, the alien is the most difficult to play as in this game, as there is no information whether you are normal on the ground or hanging on the ceiling. The physics and AI are also at the same old level as before, which especially enhances the difficulty of playing as the human or predator, because the aliens know where you are squatting and you can not bypass them and the suckers that put the aliens in your chest body, They are unique opponents and very overpowered. Overall, a great game to play for all fans of the FPS genre.
The good old classic gem of a game Aliens vs Predator Pros: 3 different races to play with fast paced action packed gameplay Fun multiplayer with friends Cons: Outdated graphics
This game is great! This is the first game, where the campers in multiplayer had even more advantages, and yet, could be countered easily at the same time. I loved how a single skilled predator could turn invisible, and fight off a dozen human players, yet a lone alien could tear him apart, if he tried to fight against him like he would fight a human. The single player is almost traumatic. There is no save during the mission, so if you die, you have to start all over, and the missions are not that short either. Basically, this game is terrifying even if you play as the monster, but worst is when you are a human. At one time, i saw an alien coming at me on the motion sensor, but didn't see him itself. Then, he jumped me, and I shot him in response with a grenade launcher, from almost point blank range. After that i was half dead, but he was in pieces, so i felt it worth it. Then again, i never actually got to the second level, so maybe not...
Why must play? Well, if you are fan of series then it's a best game focused on Aliens/Predator. If you enjoy FPS games in general, you will also love it. We don't have now this kind of shooters. With much and very fast action but also with difficult level that will kill you if you only try to play it braindead (run forward and shoot). Just be sure to play it with Redux mod - both new and "old" players. There are so many improvements that you will make this experience even better: with every single model replaced with high detailed one, expanded maps for single player and new ones for skirmish/multiplayer. Truly a godlike mod. To be honest, even without this mod games is great. For a price this low you must at least check it.
This game is what classic horror survival is, quick, painful, and unforgiving. The intense rush of the enemy towards you, coupled with the sheer truth and inevitability of your demise, makes this game one of the top of its kind. Never mind the blocky dated graphics, or the sometimes clunky controls. You will be on the edge of your seat the whole time, with sweet relief washing over you as you complete the game after days without going to bed—not because you were too engrossed in the game, but because you couldn't sleep with the thought of Aliens and Predators lurking in the shadows. This game is a definite must-play.
