So, after 3 years after this game coming out, and me putting in way more than 4000 hours (Offline hours included) I think I can make a very safe judgement of this game. Arma 3 allows you to take a canvas and paint anything, or if you want to focus on just playing, it's like a park, but think of it as a never-ending park, there is always new rides etc. There is constantly new content coming out daily for the Arma 3, majority of it being from the Community, however BI (Bohemia Interactive) Do actually do a lot of (Good .. ish) Updates themselves. Whether it's a huge graphic update or sound update which were both fairly recent, or a small bug fix/weapon change update, they do updates, they still support this game 100%. That point is proven by the fact that they have a ton of great (Cheap) DLC, which really delves into everything, and they also have more planned all the way up to mid-2018. Essentially, I have never had a boring day in Arma 3 because if you get bored of one thing there is always something else.
Well this game is more than great it's amazing how much you can do in this game and it's amazing how much this game has. If you like to design your own missions, maps etc then get this game because it has a very great map editor for things like that, you can pretty much do whatever you like in the editor! There are also many great mods that you can get to make it funnier. Great game to play with friends too, you'll enjoy playing with friends for hours and you won't notice how fast the time goes.
Arma 3 is one of the best military simulations in the world right now. You need beast gaming machine especially a good processor the play the game on high settings without any lag. The textures are beautiful and the main map altis is based on a real greek island, like chernarus in arma 2. The server browser needs very long to show you all online servers. The arsenal is getting bigger and bigger with new weapons, vehicles and planes and helis, but they are all set in a future world. They should have addes all the vehicles and weapons, like in arma 2, with the operation arrowhead expension. There you have all actual weapons like the m4a1 or the ak, or vehicles like the huey or the humvee. All in all arma 3 is very enjoyable, if you have a team to play with.
If you're willing to make effort finding a good group to play this game with you will certainly have an astounding experience. However some things you need to take in factor: You will need a rather good computer, especially a good CPU to run this game smoothly. Having a headset, or a seperate microphone is essential for communication. It may be difficult to find the right group for you, keep searching. This is not an easy game to get into, there are complex functions you may have never seen before. It will take you hundreds hours to master this game. This game is aimed towards a more mature crowd than your average shooter. This is a very mod friendly game, and some you may find difficult,
Arma III is the continuation of the Arma series, which started out as "Operation Flashpoint 1985". OPF1985 was considered the best of it's time when it was released and the Arma series has continued that tradition with many of the same developers that created OPF1985. With a simple quick mission builder, a full blown complex high-end mission editor, mods, mods, and even more mods to make Arma III something really special to those of us who enjoy these type of games. If you want the same feature set, but more realistic you would have to actually be in the military and have a security clearance and thousands of dollars. But you can get close to the same thing that real militaries around the world actually train with for less than $60 and you don't need to sign-up for service. If you want to enjoy this, but can't afford it at full price or have an older or slower PC, then Arma II almost as chock full of features and mods so if you can't get this, get Arma II.
