Arma 3 is a polished shooter game taking place on giant maps (from 16km to 200km and even more with either dlc or mods). Scenario and game modes are endless due to editors (zeus and eden) and mods created by a massive community. However Arma 3's platform is badly optimised and even with a nasa computer you might be the subject of fps drop. Let's hope bohemia fix that.
Arma as a series is all about realism, and i think that i speak for most of us when i say that Arma 3 is an amazing game and truly is the next best thing to real military (when we talk about games). It is set in the near future and shows some quite interesting and unique weapons and vehicles, take for example the SPMG which is a light machine gun that fires 338. rounds (what some snipers and marksman rifles fire). Pros: - Great Graphics - Detailed enviroments - Fun and immersive gameplay - 2 Big and good looking maps (Altis, Stratis) - Teamwork is emphasized Cons: - Fps drops easily on a slower machine - Too many MX's (one specific type of rifle) - very steep learning curve There are most likely a few Pros and cons that i have missed but i think that those don't impact the game as much.
ARMA 3 is is a military sim that focuses very closely on realistic combat and tactics. The combat is intense and gritty, fatigue plays a major role in determining how accurate you are as you have to battle your own panting to get off a few decent shots, furthermore the knowledge that only a few hits are needed to take you down makes seeking cover in any scenario mandatory. The vehicles in ARMA 3 feel just as real as the combat with most vehicles acting in accordance with realistic physics (especially the aircraft flight models). One of my favorite points about ARMA 3 is the ballistics and the skill require to master the finer points of combat. You cannot jump into the game for the first time and expect to completely dominate the AI as you would in other games. You need to learn to balance multiple in game factors relating to recoil, range, bullet drop, wind etc. This game is going to feel daunting and difficult for people playing an ARMA game for the first time, that being said if you put the time in to learn the game you will love it.
Arma III is definately not for the faint-hearted. This is not an FPS in the same ballpark as the COD or battlefield series, this is more of a war simulator. The game looks and plays amazingly well on my machine. The maps are HUGE and feel superb to move around. But this is defianatley a game for lovers of strategy, stealth and precision. No more running and gunning (like a boss) and tearing the game a new A-hole. Teamwork and precision are the keys to this game. If you like games that require a great deal of skill to master then Arma III will not disappoint.
Arma 3 is not for consoles. With decent gaming rig you don't usually see 60fps. You don't need it 25 is enough minimum fps for this game (my opinion). With draw distances maxed (25km) I had two fps. Game looks astonishing with detailed environments (two islands near Greek coast). Gameplay is sometimes a bit of slow for modern time fps-player. You need to plan approach for missions carefully and be use much time to get used control mappings of game. Flying with helicopter is nearly impossible for beginners. And you need to deploy your weapon if you want to be accurate. Many are speaking that this game's good content is only multiplayer. I'm still enjoying game's long and interesting singleplayer campaign. I think that Arma 3 is optimized game. I's only very heavy because its photorealistic look and long draw distances. There is also much cpu calculations with al, wind, bullet drop etc. I'm not fan for Arma because its zombie mods. I'm base-game fan with pleasure. Arma is only military shooter that I can call a simulator.
