The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book in another game in a quite lengthy Atelier series. And as always it's really fun to play. I liked the fact that authors decided to introduced new mechanics as we play, even during later part of the game we are getting something new which keeps the gameplay fresh. Overall it's another good game worth checking out.
Atelier Sophie: The Mystery Book Alchemist is a very different Rpg game than the traditional one of this style of games, it is a game of turn-based fights with a history a little peculiar in a world of alchemy, in this world there is an apprentice of the Alchemy called Sophie and his book that speaks and has intelligence of its own which is quite rare, the game is quite entertaining with a few colorful and well designed stages, the story is quite good very Japanese anime style.
This is the newest game in their series of JRPGs focused on an alchemist. It is more laid back than your typical JRPG. It doesn't thrust you into an epic adventure or huge quest. The game is about an alchemist learning and improving her craft. If you like past entries , you'll love this one. The crafting is greatly expanded and the quest are fun. The combat is pretty good too and offers a good range of options. The weakness is the storyline , which doesn't really go anywhere. The gameplay also gets repetitive towards the end.
