Essentially $4 for New Characters

The only good thing I can get from this Deluxe Version is the season pass which promises 5 more characters when they release. Everything else just seems like fluff that (I feel) shouldn't even be paid for. So the additional $20 you pay to go from the Standard to Deluxe Version is only really worth the 5 characters, and it's not even worth it to pay $4 for extra characters who may or may not just be derivatives of some of the already existing characters. With the number features they tried to cram in each character, I'm not sure what else they can cram into the 5 more they're creating. Seriously, the additional skins and taunts aren't really good unless you play those specific characters. And the special weapons are something I disagree with (and a quick read of the previous user review also shares this sentiment) because paying to gain an advantage over other players is a cheap and unbalanced way of empowering your player base while earning cash. For me, this isn't really worth it. I don't see how paying that additional $20 and getting the Deluxe Edition is going to impact your gameplay significantly. Not unless you're fine with paying $4 for new characters (if you're really that invested in this game). I mean, I'm not in a position to judge since i bought the DLC characters for Sm4ash Bros, and those were $5-6 each. So yeah, if you're a true fan of this game, then get this to get the game plus all future DLC.

Born for battle

Battleborn is a new entry in the hero shooter genre and manages to stand on its own with rich lore, hilarious characters, and fantastic gameplay. In Battleborn, the end of the universe has come and you team up with various allies to make sure that the last star does not go out. But that's just the single player campaign. It does what it needs to get done and doesn't have anything that will blow you away, but it is fun if you want to unlock some character skins/taunts and learn more about these various humans, robots, elves, and unidentified. Also it is just fun to fight against a boss who just happens to canonically be the characters your friend is playing as. The multiplayer is where the meat of Battleborn?s content lies, and sadly where most of the comparisons to Overwatch come from. You team up with to capture points, make sure your minions reach their destination, and various other standard objectives. There are also character abilities that can be upgraded with perks that you gain while you level up. Additionally, you can collect crystals in each match to either activate gear that permanently boost only your stats or create turrets and drones that can be destroyed to help your entire team. This is a very interesting system that forces you to prioritize. Sadly, the extras that come in the digital deluxe version are hit and miss. The season pass is a definite plus, especially since it will give you extra characters, but unless you like playing as Oscar Mike, Miko, Caldarius, Phoebe, or Orendi, the extra taunts and skins will be completely useless. The golden character select pedestal and start screen logo are just fluff and can be cute, but the legendary gear packs? Those are the kinds of things I hate because they give players an unfair advantage against players of equal skill. Battleborn is a game you have to buy. Given what I have seen in the game so far, the season pass alone is reason enough to buy the digital deluxe version.
