Reviews for Breached

The Martian... Sort of.

Breached is a strange concept. You are completely alone on a world that is nothing more than a wasteland. Everybody is gone. No explanation about what caused this or why. You are alone and you must survive. The loneliness is the game's strongest asset. You do feel hopeless like your character! Collecting materials, making fuel out of the minerals and exploring are everything you'll be doing during the few hours of gameplay. It's a fascinating and unique concept. But it's short! Too short and shallow. I wish we could do more things !

Surviving in 8 days

This is one of my new favourite games. Its just such a nice atmosphere, very nice visuals and overall very interesting gameplay. My only complaint is that the story is a bit short when in reality there is a potential for more content. It would be nice to have some dlc that expands the current game and story line. The gameplay is limited to 8 days and you have to survive throughout those days. 8 days sounds short and the game is as short as it sounds. Other than that I recommend buying it because it is an unconventional survival game, something that is rare today!

An interesting idea and story but little content and dull mechanics

Breached is a small sandbox rougelike game that begins with you waking up from cryogenic to discover that your shelter is damaged and that you have eight days to try to repair it to restore life support. Gameplay comes from you deciding if you want to spend your time hacking to repair the shelter's generator, created fuel for the generator from minerals, or controlling a drone to scavenge the area for needed resources. At the end of each day your character writes a log and you are able to choose words to read past logs to learn more of the story and to effect possible endings. You can learn about the world you inhabit and its history through your exploration with the drone, though you only have three different locations to play on and none of them are that large. There are potential hazards for your drone but avoiding them will just come from memorization, as the maps aren't generated and will not change on you from playthrough to playthrough. With the low price the game can be worth a purchase for those interested in learning about the game's story and world but the dull mechanics and lack of content will turn off many players.
