Reviews for Call of Duty: Black Ops II

Nothing new

I can't say it is a bad game, but I praised Black Ops for its story and that's exactly what fails in this second establishment of the Black Ops series. It is not only that there are some impossible situations in Black Ops II regarding the story from the first time, it is also that it is a way less engaging story, and you stopped caring about the characters while that's exactly the opposite that happened in the first game. So, no, Black Ops II is not that game you should play for its story. What about gameplay then? Just the classic Call of Duty gameplay with nothing new to offer. It is good, don't be wrong, but not worth it. Online gaming wasn't any better and I still recommend to go for Modern Warfare 2 if you are looking for an online Call of Duty.

Pretty good. Not groundbreaking, but for CoD it's good.

I've played so much of this on console for a really long time. This is probably one of my favorite Call of Duties. As a fan of RPGs, I absolutely love how they incorporated a few RPG elements in the campaign, such as multiple endings and customization. Best CoD campaign to date, with a nice story along with Black Ops I. It really had those "Classic CoD" moments where you feel like "OH SHIT THATS SO COOL" but the core gameplay was still mostly a shooting gallery, as is the rest of the game. Zombies is fun. You run around killing zombies and earning upgrades. It's fun, if a bit shallow. Multiplayer is the same. Nothing more, nothing less. It's a good, but tired, formula that makes the game feel too samey. Overall, a good buy if you can pick this up for <15.00 like I did. You'll have fun with friends in zombies/multiplayer, and by yourself in campaign.

The best COD

I know you are asking why I gave this game a 50 it's because its disgustingly overpriced. The gameplay is incredible but the story is meh one pro is that it has cool multiple endings. The multiplayer and Zombie modes are the best though.

The Best in the Series!

Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is a real last of its kind. Although being set in the future, this game was the last Call of Duty game to get caught up in all of the futuristic game mechanics such as invisibility and the (in my opinion) horrible boost jumping! This game serves as a real send off to the Call of Duty that many fans know and love, and what a job it does at it! Taking all of the best mechanics from every game and combining it to make the best Call of Duty in the series without getting ruined by a whole heap of unneeded feature. Although a few rage inducing moments here and there (like any Call of Duty) this game has the awesome gun-play that fans have come to know and love from the series. Add the great zombies experience that the game has to offer and overall you have the best Call of Duty to ever grace the series!
