Really enjoyed this game, and the Deponia series in general. I found the puzzles and objectives to be more straightforward than the first game of this series "Deponia", but slightly less good story-wise. Still fun to play though. Pros : +Amazing story The story, although only really played out during cut scenes to new areas, is deep in detail. It pulls you in, really pulling you into the world. +Funny Not many games have blaitently funny dialog, but these games definatly do. Rufus has funny responses to other characters, his own acvtions, and stuff you try to have him do. +Characters All the characters seem fleshed out quite well. Each has a uniques personallity, displayes different emotions, and just act different. The variety is also pretty good. +Enviroments Most enviroments are well detailed with other people and objects to bring the scene alive. In some cases, youll get people who are from other games showing up in the envirments aswell. +Music The music worked well with each area you would be exploring. Although mostly being simmilar themed, it all was different and interesting. Cons: -Animations/Movement The walking animation on Rufus, for me was a bit weird. He didnt really face where he was going and took odd paths to where he needed to go. -Duration Some areas seemed too short, while others were too long. It was an odd thing and may have just been the way I solved the puzzles in each area, but it struck me as odd how I could clear one area in ~30 min and another in 2+ hours.

First game was pretty average - while the graphics and music were nice, it was short with incredibly annoying characters and some really weak, offensive jokes that were not going anywhere (just like plot). I was surprised when I played this game, because I had low expectations after first game, but here everything is better. The puzzles are much better and plenty of them, characters actually evolved and developed (although still Rufus is completely unlikable) and it's much longer, up to 10 hours. And also there is actual plot and something happening! If you like adventure games, you really should pick this one up, because it's solid good old point and click game.

The game starts out very well but once you get to the first larger area the humor is less frequent and you're moving back and forth between the same areas trying to collect the items you need to complete some mostly easy but annoying puzzles. When you finish that area you are already done with about 2/3 of the game, probably more, as the new puzzles will likely take less time to figure out. The game is short and Rufus' main antagonist Cletus only shows up at the very beginning and end of the game. The new rebel characters don't get much time to be either memorable or funny, one is only used for a one note joke about the way he pronounces things, which ends up leading to an annoying puzzle where you need to choose multiple correct lines that he won't have trouble saying so Rufus doesn't laugh at him. Luckily Doc, Goal, and Bozo are with you for the majority of the game and are the source of much of the games humor either with their actions or their reaction to Rufus. Goal's personality has also been split into three that you are able to switch between leading to some amusing situations and different reactions from her depending on who she is. The art, music, and voice acting are all excellent. Like the rest of the series, the game has terrible achievements that can either be very easily missed when certain things don't allow you to interact with them multiple times for no reason or they are unlocked by performing the same action 10+ times, usually, for no reason. From a puzzle, minigame, and location perspective I think this is the weakest game in the series but a lot of humor comes from having the main cast together most of the time.

What can I say about this game you can check in my review of Deponia. What I can add about the sequel is that it does not disappoint. It continues where part one left off and it makes you jump back into that action right away... though in this part there is even more mind-bending decisions being made... seriously how whacked in the head is Rufus? But it's all a ton of fun and if you have played the first part, and are a fun of point and click puzzle adventures, you have no need to even read this review. You want it, so get it right now! Huzzah! So get it right now!

Immediately as you fire up Deponia, you're treated to hand-crafted 2D eye-candy with so much personality and life despite the static nature of the scenes that you forget you're playing a point-and-click puzzle adventure game and just get lost in the visuals and the story. Ah, the story. I absolutely love games with deep stories and some serious think-about-it plot devices, but you won't find that here. Now, don't get ahead of me too quickly. I'm not saying the story in Deponia is bad. The truth is that the story is detailed, yet pretty much as simple as it could be, but it wears those rags like a finely crafted Italian suit, not once allowing me to tire of the plot or the development. If I had to sum it up in three words, I'd have to say "Brilliance in simplicity". If you have any love for games like Myst, Tell-Tale Games' The Walking Dead, or even those room escape games all over the internet, you'll definitely want to pick up this outstandingly witty and entertaining trilogy, but please start with the first game "Deponia" before moving on to "Chaos on Deponia" and finally wrapping up with "Goodbye Deponia".
