When large numbers of heavily armed terrorists have taken over the Prypiat' area, European governments shook in fear.
Soon enough the fear grew even stronger after the terrorists have made contact. They want ten billion Euro in 24 hours or they will blow up the entire Chernobyl nuclear power plant, releasing clouds of deadly, radioactive materials high into the atmosphere all over the northern hemisphere.
To pay such amount of money to the extremists is unthinkable. Frontal attack, however, could not be thought about, either - the terrorists would have executed their plan if they saw attacking forces. There were too many of them and too well equipped for a quick military operation to succeed.
One possibility remained - to select the best Spec Ops single unit to sneak in and destroy enemy installation, preventing them from blowing up the Chernobyl and killing as many of them as possible. One man. You.
First Person Perspective dynamic adventure shooter powered by the advanced Argon 4 technology. Areas around the Prypiat', the city itself and the Chernobyl nuclear plant recreated.
Vivid, living environments with plant life, animals, birds and atmospheric effects.
Sophisticated enemy AI, allowing them to fight in groups, using different weapons and explosives, alarming and supporting each other, using terrain and objects in their tactics.
Explosive special effects.
Convincing storyline and action objectives. The player is constantly in contact with his HQ, which feeds him with data and changes mission objectives as he goes.
11 huge levels and 7 deadly weapons
I am absolutely obsessed with anything that has to do with Chernobyl. I love the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games and so when I saw this I instantly thought that it must be worth a try. But I was a bit disappointed to say the least. The combat is sucky, the animations substandard, the graphics dated, and the AI is poor. However the game is surprisingly challenging, particularly the combat. This is partly due to the inconsistent AI, which can be clever at times, and downright stupid the next moment. And I guess there are worse looking games around. It turns out that it might be worth a try, but I wouldn’t buy it. If you do, make sure it’s very cheap. This is the definition of a bargain bin quality game.
This game is an fps that takes place in Chernobyl and well thats the only interesting thing I can tell you about it. The gameplay is fairly generic and well really just average nothing really special about this game at all it doesn't stand out from anything you can find in the bargain bin. The weapon selection is pretty boring just like the gameplay I guess that just adds to it you have your generic assault rifle, knife, pistol combo. It does look pretty though I like the graphics quite a lot they seem very dark and atmospheric I almost thought it was Unreal Engine 3 because the graphics looked really good. If this game ever goes on sale for like 5 dollars I recommend you buy it cause its definitely worth checking out over its graphics alone since the gameplay isn't very special.
the game looked decently ok until i bought it, now it is meh There is alot of bugs in the game and it lags quite a bit, since the game came out quite a while ago the graphics arent the best i wouldnt recommend anyone to buy this. The game has a really bad AI, they do stupid things which makes the game feel really unrealistic. The sounds of the game though are really good , explosions and voices are decent to make the characters feel real. overall i would not recommend anyone to buy this and save money for a better fps game.
I've played a lot of budget shooters over the past couple of years and this one is close to being on top. Of course your expectations can't be too high going into any budget shooter, they are after all budget titles. What makes this one special? well it's the combat and the AI. This game has some of the best, not the best but some of the best AI I have seen in a game of recent times, that is ANY game of any budget. They make the game fun because it's challenging and they react differently. The AI will run off and hide behind cover, throw grenades, fire rocket launchers and zig zag across the screen to escape your fire. The hit point registration seems to not exist which is annoying and some enemies will take an entire clip of the AK to finally lay down, be careful some will still get back up for more. But the AK weapon seems a bit weak compared to the rest. It's the main weapon you will get ammo from because it's the default enemy weapon but you have plenty of more good weapons including a very powerful shotgun. One blast of the shotty and they won't be getting back up. The grenades work very well against groups of enemies. The weapon balance over all adds to the fun of the game. The shooter is basic, the graphics are fine, the story is alright and that's all you can really ask of a budget shooter. This one beats out most of the City Interactive titles on display around GMG so give this one a go!
This is not a game with any originality to it, but what Chernobyl Terrorist Attack does, it does well. Solid combat is backed up by nice graphics, fairly good voice acting, and an average story. This isn't a game to write home about, but it also isn't one you'll be disappointed over purchasing, either. The levels are large and varied, as advertised. There's plenty of places to hole up, although most of your time will be spent charging into battle. You can edge around certain conflicts, which I found to be pretty cool, but if the alarm's raised, and those guys you duped are still visible, they'll be happy to join in the next fight. Overall, a decent game, and something modern done in a fairly original setting for once.
