The single player part is rather annoying. Maybe because i need to git good in it. Could be the case since i already spent more time writing this review then playing it. The real fun was when me and my wife sat together, and played for hours. I never tried it with 4 people, but it was fun with the bots too. It kinda reminds me of bomberman in multiplayer, but this game is even easier to learn. Basically, you play a 4 way rock paper scizzors game, in real time. Simple, but awesome!
This games brings both Pac-Man and Bomberman into mind. It allows for 4 players to compete in a devour-a-friend-fest. Also, you can play with bots to fill the empty player slots. Random target switching leads to hilarious situations that the prey you chase around the level suddenly becomes the predator hunting you just a second or two before you manage to chomp it up. All in all great fun though a lack of online multiplayer is a bummer. C'mon developers, add the online play. The sooner the better.
Chompy creators clearly like to play with their friends. It is a pity that the gameplay itself is too simple and too tedious to attract players for more than five minutes. The gameplay is based on a proven pattern of play the TAG game. The only variations here are the bonuses, the developers offered a lot of them to the players, we get teleports or mines to make the gameplay more interesting. Still, I got bored pretty quickly.
I believe you can have a little fun with this game on some kind of party with friends, or maybe with siblings... but that's all. It quickly become boring to play this game, there is almost no content for single player - sure, you can play with bots, but that's just not fun, and Arcade mode is short and easy. Maybe if Chompy Chomp Chomp had online multiplayer this could be a better game, but without it, it's not. I have waited for long time to dev to make some action but if he doesn't then, why would he bother now... buy only if you plan to play it with your real friends.
This game is a pretty Fun game with friends. In battle or in arcade mode. There is a ton of power ups and two different ways to play battle mode. One major complaint is the changing spawn points. You never know where you will spawn when you die in this mode and that can cause lots of confusion in this mode. Arcade mode is kinda bland but is still challenging to beat, even with a friend. It can be a little unfair at times by spawning you on top of the blobbidees. Which are the enemies in this mode. In co-op for this mode you have two giant blobbidees chasing you instead of just one, and every death takes away your time. So you have to be careful. But the Saddest thing about this game is the lack of online play. Even though the creators are working on it now, they should have delayed the release a bit for the online. If you don't have any friends by you it isn't nearly as fun to play. Last time my friend came over we had a blast playing this game. But it would be so much more fun playing with 4 players in battle mode. It would be insanely fun and frantic. Pros: Easy to pick up and play. Very colourful. Fun multiplayer. Cons: Lack of online Changing spawn points causing confusion. Bland arcade mode.. I would definitely reccomend this game to everyone once it gets online. But if you don't have friends around i would say to wait for a discount or price drop.
