It’s up to you, and your Hurricane or Spitfire. If you hold off the enemy long enough, you’ll be the first to fly the Hawker Tornado and Westland Whirlwind into combat, and enable the Empire to strike back before Reichsmarschall Goering finishes his breakfast. You’ll be rewarded with bonus missions, promotions, decorations, and a view of burning Berlin from the tail turret of a Halifax bomber.

Mediocre game. Graphics are now looking rather dated and are not impressive at all. Only low resolutions are available. Crashes aren't the most realistic (but keep in mind that this is more arcade than a simulator). On the brighter side game works pretty well with flight stick and does not require a lot of customization and tweaking. Back to bad stuff - there are game-breaking bugs every now and then - mission window does not update even if you destroy all the targets and you have to start over. Keeping all that in mind - the game may last you for a couple of hours, but don't expect anything brilliant and be ready for some bug-forced replays.
Combat Wings: Battle of Britain is mostly an arcade based flying shooter for those that may be interested in the time period or aircraft, but either don't want or aren't looking for a simulation style flying game. Combat Wings is loosely based on the early BOB campaign in WWII, but with the usual arcade gameplay that throws you into the air with easy controls, multiple objectives, and lots of ammo. The game could be easily played with a mouse, and is completely action based. Graphics are mediocre and several years dated, but passable. Sound and other technical elements are useable but nothing special. All in all, this is a cheap shooter that is likeable, and fun for casual gamers, but hardly worth the time for historically inclined gamers or sim types.
