The first game was much sneakier, hear, you actually feel like fighting in a global war. Your man will be deployed everywhere from Burma, to Paris, in missions of varying sizes. The game is essentially the same as the first, or to be more precise, the first expansion. Even the "new" commandos are functionally the same as new ones there, except for the dog. That being said, this game feels very different then the last one. Part of the reason is the inventory system. Unlike the first, here you can loot almost anything, and carry with you a bunch of weapons, and even use them. You can put your commandos in sentry mode, and even occasionally deploy some of the allied troops as well. The enemy become somewhat smarter. Last time, they were pretty much fascist lemmings, with guns. Now, they are fascist lemming with guns, who will use grenades, if need be. They still fall for every trap though. You can capture, and undress your enemies, and even impersonate them, with every soldier this time, not just the Spy. He is the most effective doing it though, the others tend to be made quite fast. So, this is game is fun, and not as unforgiving as the first ones. Too bad it's downhill from here....
Commando 2 is much like its big brother. In fact, it's an improved version of the original for each flaw is gone now. Commando is a Stealth game set in isometric view. Your goal is to complete various stealth missions behind the enemy lines during World War II. You have nine characters at your disposal. Each one has his own set of abilities and thus possibilities. Because that’s where the game is very good. You are free to proceed as you wish. Just select the guys who will be in your team and then go for a stealth joy ride. This also gives a great replay value to the game. Commando 2 is old but the visuals still looks good... Sure they are not as sharp as today graphics but they do the job!
Commando 2 is much like its big brother. In fact, it's an improved version of the original for each flaw is gone nown. With your team of nine commandos, you must infiltrate several areas under the control of the Axis. It's a stealth game in the purest definition of the term. You have a lot of possibilities to help you complete your mission. The game is pretty old but the Isometric 3D still looks good today. It's great and the replay-value is high thanks to the amount of possibilities to complete each mission.
Commandos series were one of my favorite strategy games since I was still a child. I really love the indirect stealthy approach to the enemy bases and silently killing your way to take on objectives. The game requires a lot of thinking on how to approach or just where to hide, or through where to evacuate. This time the WWII battlefield is in 3D with 360 degrees rotation plus a lot of action takes place in buildings or even underwater which wasn’t possible in previous games. Graphics are really pleasant for an old game. The gameplay is an amazing experience, finished the game a few times already!
