“My interest in it lies elsewhere: it reminds me of a science-fiction, open world version of Qvadriga, the chariot-racing game both Adam and Tim Stone couldn’t hold their horses over earlier this year.” Rock Paper Shotgun
“Having just had a go on a preview build, I can confirm that what's in the game already is promising enough.” PC Gamer
“Convoy is like FTL, Car Wars, and Mad Max had a glorious roguelike love child.” Escapist Magazine
Convoy is a tactical roguelike-like inspired by Mad Max and FTL in which you cross a wasteland in search of parts for your broken ship.
Presented in pixel art and set in a future post-apocalyptic setting, Convoy is a squad based tactical roguelike-like in its core. You travel with your combat vehicles and convoy across a wasteland to find parts needed to repair your broken spaceship. During your journey you will encounter strangers in randomized scenarios by picking up radio signals.
Depending on the choices you make, signals can either lead to tactical combat, text based dialogue or chance based role-play. Whatever choice you make, you need to keep your convoy and its cargo safe from raiders, privateers and other enemies. Keep upgrading your vehicles, as death is permanent in Convoy.
A new take on tactical combat: Combat plays out in real time as a high-speed car chase where you need to position your units and use abilities to maximise their effectiveness.
Exploration pays: You will encounter many different radio signals, each with a text based event. What doesn’t kill you may reward you with loot.
Fully customizable units: Each unit can be upgraded and outfitted with different weapons and abilities, allowing you to customize them to your needs.
A randomized planet: Each play-through features different main and side objectives, events, choices, and different consequences to your actions.
A cold war turning hot: Three factions vie for control over the planet, your actions tip the scales of balance making you an enemy to everyone. As each faction grows in strength, you need to keep up.
Permadeath at the core: Knowing one wrong move could lead to certain death puts you constantly on edge.

I generally love post apoc wasteland stuff, and Faster than light is a classic for me, so i thought this will chain me to my monitor for a few months as well(like i need to be chained there... XD). Well, it turns out, this one is not my cup of tea. While anyone can play FTL in the first try(albeit badly) this one just didn't feel to welcoming. I don't know, the problem is probably with me, but still, the whole thing was confusing. Now, i don't say it's bad, and if someone is in a more patient mood, then i apparently was at the time, then it could be really fun. The graphics are cute, and the game works perfectly. There were no bugs at all, and really...it's a nice peace a software. Maybe i will give it another time later :)
Convoy is an interesting game that will remind you of FTL - though instead of flying through space you are driving across the sands as a car convoy. You essentially protect your convoy truck as you gather parts for your downed spaceship - all the while annoying the denizens of the various factions of the world - and eventually the faction that keeps all the other ones in check. It may feel overwhelmingly hard at first, but you get the hang of things pretty quickly. Keep at it and you will find yourself playing a rewarding game.
I loved FTL, and this game scratched that same kind of rogue-like itch. Convoy has won a place in my library. The combat is surprisingly dynamic, and is a pretty nice change of pace. My biggest complaint is the lack of variety. I actually like the art direction for the most part, but the levels and combat encounters left me feeling a little bored the more I played. I would have liked to see a little more variety in vehicles, and a few more unique combat encounters. If they ever make a sequel, I'd love to see what they add to the game. All told, this is well worth a snag, particularly as it frequently goes on sale these days.
Convoy is a much like Faster Than light in many aspects , you have to find parts for you space ship and you drive and MTV and collect parts across many systems in an open world , you don't have the rush feeling of being chased all the time that you have in Faster Than Light, and in many ways it's not as deep, you can hang about in safe places and chill and it's not necessarily a bad thing , though you have to have lot's of skill during combat , unlike FTL where you just hope it all works our for the best , you need to micro manage the combat you have different difficulties , you start off with 2 vehicles and you can acquire more over the tie as you pick up more Scrap , you will get attacked along the way Mad Max Convoy Vehicle combat , it's not easy and requires strategy. when done with combat you can go to nearby camp and repair ,stock up on fuel and supplies ,switch weapons and upgrade/purchase new vehicles. Graphics are decent pixel art and has nice sound effects wish it had co op mode in it so i could join in with friends and play as convoy , it's super fun and a nice change from FTL where it's more relaxing but requires more skill in combat.
