Crab Cakes Rescue is the kind of game that I would recommend to fans of the genre, it's simple and fun, in addition to helping to waste time to a great extent. While not a jewel within the genre nor the Indie scheme in general is a platform game rather cheerful and simplistic. If you're looking for more than a couple of hours of fun, Crab Cakes Rescue is the game for you.
The gameplay is quite simple, at the beginning of each level you will have 12 "lives" so that every time you die you leave your shell in the place where you died, while at each death your crab is smaller and smaller. Simple, you will have to cross a series of levels that hardly and propose a real challenge (unless you are completionist) because to finish a level is as simple as to arrive at the goal. Around the whole game you find yourself on a beach, was not it obvious? And although artistic design in general is not the most impressive of the title if it fulfills its mission to create a colorful world and quite pleasing to the eye. With quite limited graphic options the game is already reminiscent of classic web pages.
This game is honestly very low budget. Not worth the price at all. I feel the concept is rather new but it doesn't feel original , music is kiddish most probably target audience for kid gamers to play. Game is quite easy at the start but difficulty does rise up. Sacrifice and reviving makes the game quite fresh but after a few stages it just doesn't give you that new experience rather a "been there done that" kind of expression. Maybe for younger age group this game may seem fun. Also, if it was a mobile app it could have done better.
