Fans of Crusader Kings II will be able to maintain the empires they have established and guide them through the age of exploration in an all-new strategic experience, continuing their personal stories of expansion and conquest.

It can be a lot of fun forming a nation through dynastic competition in CK2 and then watching what your dynasty formed through selfishness and betrayal form an actual nation that expands and evolves as an entity and not just a title. The playstyle is different between the 2 games but the conversion still feels pretty natural if you take into account how the world and people's perception of it is changing. One thing you do need to take into account though is that CK2's end date is 1453 and EU4's base start date is 1444, so you will need to end your CK2 game a bit early if you want real continuity (you can convert at any time you want, you can start a game at 867ad and convert right then and there to EU4, but the EU4 start date will still be 1444 unless you have other mods running.) The only 2 big downsides to the converter are: 1. I often form huge nations in CK2, so unless you limit yourself a little in CK2 then EU4 will just become one big "manage internal affairs while your tiny neighbours hope you don't notice them" simulator. That is just a result of my playstyle though. 2. It is sometimes buggy and saved games get corrupted. The first time I converted a game it worked fine, but that was almost a year ago. Since then in more recent patches I have had a few issues with saved games getting corrupted to often when using this converter, so make copies of your saved games often while playing.
Paradox has done a great job integrating all of their different games. This Downloadable Content lets you convert from Crusader Kings 2 to Europa Universalis 4. Is there more to say? Continue your empire for another three hundred years and continue conquering and jihading the world around you. The converter isn't perfect however. Many times when you convert too many provinces have unnecessary revolt risk due to culture and religion. Make sure that everything is also within your dejure borders or you may have some problems. Overall it is a great addition for all of you who wish to continue your game from Crusader Kings 2 to Europa Universalis. Overall I will admit that at many times you own so much that it makes no sense to transfer over but it still is worth your money if you love the games.
As opposed to most of Crusader Kings II's rather bland portrait packs and music bundles, the Crusader Kings II to Europa Universalis IV converter is simply splendid. It bridges the two games in a way I can't remember happening ever before. The ability to transfer a save file is great for people who want a more well-rounded experience, which this DLC gives. for anyone who owns both these games, you NEED this DLC.
Yes, this dlc allows you to convert your ck2 save into eu4. That alone makes it worthwhile. But there are also a couple of other assorted goodies too. Did you revive the fortunes of Rome or reform the Old Gods? If so, the converter unlocks some exclusives like letting you rule the roman empire or command the vikings in the early modern age.
This DLC allows you to convert your save from crusader kings 2 into a europa universalis 4 save making it possible to continue playing the same save, hopefully when victoria 3 comes out we'll get a EU4 -> Victoria 3 converter too. Very nice of paradox to do this!
