This e-book is a collection of twelve short stories set in the medieval period, somewhat connected to the universe of Crusader Kings II. More precisely, there are a few references to the game's mechanics, which is to be expected, but nothing that too noticeable. Most of content represents pure, unrelated, medieval historical fiction. There are also a couple of CK-like alternate histories, but that's about it. While the game's story takes great departures from established history (just like another popular game series by Ubisoft), these short stories don't have that writing direction and it's overall just disappointing. The stories themselves are decent enough, but a little too pricey for the length and, for the most part, don't go far enough with the sheer abnormality of the world according to CK2, If you have a general interest in historical fiction, there is something in this book for you.
