Lets just begin this review by saying that Dandara is an amazing game! The game has a beautiful story. The game play is done well it feels natural. The difficulty is pretty solid. It's hard but it's not like you feel cheated by the difficulty. The game just feels like a challenge like it should. It forces you to step up your game. I am a huge fan of Hollow Knight and other difficult combo games and if you are too I recommend you to pick up this game.
A story about people being oppressed and nearly extinct, but then the protagonist comes and saves the day. This is a 2D platformer, which allows you to explore the map by going on platforms with salt, which is the currency in the game. It allows you to purchase different upgrades, all of which give certain benefits. There are also a lot of puzzles and cool boss fights. The soundtrack helps with the game's atmosphere and the gameplay is quite interesting.
Dandara is one of the best platformers I've played in a while and it is really fun, challenging with so much entertainment! The game comes with a 2D old fashion visual style and offers a unique fast paced gameplay which does not try to limit your movements to just walk or run on the floor and do some basic jumps, but instead it denies gravity for your advantage in movement mechanics in a great way! it's kinda like your hero has some kind of gravity boots which lets her to stick on every surface she wants to, in the game and it is just lovely and I really liked it! the level design is really great and thoughtful and you will encounter varied bosses from easy to more challenging ones, exactly like old school platformers formula! The story play very well and i liked the plot and the musics are very well fit for atmosphere of the game in different situations. Dandara is one of the best platfromers on the market now and if you like 2D old fashions in the genre, you should definitely try this amazing game!
First Iconoclasts and Celeste got gaming scene off guard to critical acclaim, and now another challenger approaches, Dandara! It is yet another Metroidvania game that also took inspiration from Dark Souls with its approach to death, because when you die, you can regain all of your collected currency by just going back to the point where you died, and maybe a little of Metalstorm/Alien Soldier/Ninja Gaiden 2-3 with wall/ceilings. Gimmick of this game is that you can only move and jump on areas that are white (covered in salt). It makes for some demanding, franctic and challenging gameplay, although if you have problems with rorating pictures, you might get a really bad case of vertigo. As for the controls, you should get gamepad for it, because keyboard and mouse combination can get really hard to control and ruin the fun. Another thing that might be considered bad is that rarely game can get somewhat cheap with off-screen enemies shooting at you. Other than that, really nice and crisp graphics, decent soundtrack, fine bosses. For this price, I don't know how you can go wrong.
