Demon Crystals is your typical twin stick shooter game. I was using my xbox controller with the game and it worked perfectly. The gameplay is pretty fun in that they offer a lot of different ways to play. I enjoyed the game the most playing on nightmare difficulty on survival mode with my friends. However, the gameplay was very easy in that it required me to play it on nightmare for any kind of difficulty. There is no dodging, weapon swapping, or any specials to use or cast; making gameplay a bit too simple for my taste. Basically, all you do is run around in a small-medium sized area shooting enemies while avoiding damage to yourself. However, there are a handful of weapon pickups that augment your gun that shoot in different patterns which is nice. There are also item pickups that give you special abilities. All of these are limited though and they don't last for entire rounds. I purposefully avoided arcade because I found it too easy to play. Demon Crystals is a good co-op shooter in survival albeit it can be too easy on arcade mode.
Shooting things is a fun gameplay mechanic and that's the only thing you do in Demon's Crystals. It's a Top Down view Dual Stick shooter where you must fight hordes of monsters. There are four characters available, each one with his own weapons and skills and you can upgrade your abilities by collecting crystals. The game is fun but a bit repetitive.
