From the makers of the acclaimed hit game Destiny, comes the much-anticipated sequel. An action shooter that takes you on an epic journey across the solar system.
Humanity’s last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force, led by Ghaul, the imposing commander of the brutal Red Legion. He has stripped the city’s Guardians of their power, and forced the survivors to flee. You will venture to mysterious, unexplored worlds of our solar system to discover an arsenal of weapons and devastating new combat abilities. To defeat the Red Legion and confront Ghaul, you must reunite humanity’s scattered heroes, stand together, and fight back to reclaim our home.
By now everyone knows this games many flaws (and there's a lot of them). In spite of all of it; it's still a fun game. Scratches that MMO and shooter itch at the same time in a way WarFrame/Firefall/Planetside never could (at least for me). No idea if it'll have staying power yet (only 1 raid at launch?). Hopefully someone is already working on a better type of game like this that is avoiding this games many mistakes.
i played Destiny 1 and loved the game. It had problems but it was still an enjoyable experience, aside from all the bugs of course. This is like a better and yet worse version of the Destiny I knew. Many of the games mechanics have been altered (especially PVP) and tbh it no longer feels like what i was used to enjoy. Destiny is a game that will always want to be better than it is, and the effort that bungie puts in proves this. The miscommunication from bungie's team to their gaming community will continuously ruin the experience that is Destiny 2 and until they themselves know the plan for destiny, this game is not worth buying. I was lucky to have gotten this game on sale but that was the only way i would have purchased this title. Read other reviews in the future to determine if this is worth the money.
Destiny 2 runs pretty well and looks gorgeous, but some parts of it aren't looked after enough. The content at some parts is simply a tedious grind with no real sense of accomplishment and rewards. But overall for a shooter, like its predecessor, it is a fun and enjoyable experience.
Man this game was so much fun when I bought it at release. Haven't had this much fun with a shooter in quite some time. Bungie really knows how to draw out the good in an FPS game. Unfortunately Bungie doesn't seem to know what and how the players want to play the game and seems to only listen to what the community says after an outrage so at this point the game is unfortunately not that fun when it comes to the end game and what you can or can not do. You'll get locked out of content you could play before if you don't purchase the DLC for one. Bungie has promised to step up, but if this will be anything like the first game, be prepared for a great game, as soon as the first proper expansion hits, which if they keep to the same type of release schedule as earlier, will happen after the season pass content has been released and the game has been out for about a year. The base game is still fun and you get a few hours out of the story, but everything after that, well Bungie has some work to do.
This game is beautiful visually and runs well. Unfortunately it is a bit shallow in some parts. The gearing system is very basic and doesn't give a very rewarding sense of progression. The grind to raise your light level (so you can raise your light level some more) is a bit tedious. All in all it is still a fun game and worth experiencing.
