Prepare to advance and assault the enemy with a custom skinned Battle Rifle, two packs of regular Battle Rifle ammo, one pack of armor piercing Battle Rifle ammo, 2 Frag Grenades, 2 EMP Grenades, 500 Weapon Parts, and 1 Praxis Kit, using the included Chaff Augmentation to give you a few extra seconds to escape the proximity of nearby explosives. Strike quickly and with aplomb, eliminating the enemy before they even know what hit them.
Like the other DLC, this is one time use only. Once you redeem it in game, you lose access to it permanently. You cannot use it again even if you start a new game unless you buy it again. Totally a scam and unneeded for this game anyway. You can earn everything in game, minus the extra weapon skin, but it's not a new weapon anyway. It doesn't add anything to the game. If you could use it more than once I would raise my review a bit, but as is, pass on this and all DLC for this game, except for the upcoming story DLC.
Mankind Divided's Assault Pack Pack includes equipment and consumables that will give you an easier time with the game, as well as weapon skin and a new augment. These items come in the form of a storage section of your inventory and can be moved into your real inventory (this storage has no in game use apart from adding DLC items). Apart from the Praxis Kit (used to activate or upgrade your abilities) and the 500 weapon parts (at least in the early game) the extra grenades and the packs of ammo aren't very interesting. Another problem with the DLC is that all of the consumable equipment (grenades, ammo, parts, and even the praxis kit) can only be used once and will never be available again. You can get around this by creating a save game at the very start of the game (possible one for each difficulty) before you remove anything from storage, and then you will always have access to them at the start of those saved games if you choose to play on them. You will be able to use the custom skinned gun and the Chaff Augmentation in future playthroughs. The gun itself can be found in the prologue mission on enemies so its addition isn't that useful unless you just like the weapon skin. The way the gun is handled is also somewhat odd in that it counts it as a seperate weapon for a normal Battle Rifle, allowing you to pick up a regular one. This can be both a good and a bad thing, it is good because the game usually forces you to hold one of each weapon type and converts and other pickups into ammo while removing them from the game, this can prevent you from holding guns to sell them or from customizing two of the same guns in different ways. This is more likely to be bad for most people though as it means that you will need to hold onto another version of the gun in order to take the ammo out of other Battle Rifle. The Chaff Augmentation gives you an additional upgrade for your radar augmentation that will help you with incoming grenades. The Chaff Augmentation is really the only reason to buy this, and that makes it a very overpriced DLC. It also feels like it should have been in the base game as older Deus Ex titles had a similar ability.
