Four to six different characters to choose from, depending on which game you are playing each with unique weapons, items, spells, and special abilities. In addition to your main attacks and special attacks characters have access to throwing projectiles, bows, oil pots, rings with magical abilities, hidden team up attacks, and spells that can have a wide variety of effects such as turning enemies to stone, damaging enemies, or making the caster invisible. When choosing to play as a spell using character selecting an alternate color for your character will even grant you some different abilities than the default one had, giving even more options that a casual player might have missed. There are multiple paths to take in both games that lead you to different levels, secrets and items to be found, and stages can end differently depending on your actions in them. Characters become stronger as they level up and find new equipment. At the end of the game based on choices you have made and items collected your character can have many different endings. House Rules were added to the game that can be turned on to change up the gameplay. The game allows for four player co-op and has online support.
Chronicles of Mystara is a compilation of the two Dungeons & Dragons game developed for the Arcade by Capcom : Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom and Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara. These are oldschool Beat'em all game with some new features like the House of Rules which add some interesting challenges to complete during the game. Up to four players can challenge this game in Co-op and it sure is a lot funnier with friends to play. The gameplay is excellent and is even better thanks to the Challenge System. As an arcade game, Chronicles of Mystara is not that long but there are tons of things to unlock. A must have for all the fans of D&D, Capcom games and Golden Axe.
It's a great old school, side scrolling beat em up with fantastic midd-earthy art. The characters you can choose from are unique and have awesome special attacks. It's great fun with friends or as a solo venture, but as is the case with most games of this type, at least for me, it does get old kind of fast. It's still fun, but in short bursts. It's overflowing with awesome designs and imagery, and solid gameplay. If you can play it often enough, or don't get bored by the repetitive gameplay, then it's worth your time.
I recommend it to fans of arcade games and old school like me. You can play online .... now the game is short, since it is set two record arcade games that used to play, if you are looking for a long game this is not your choice, it is a game for the nostalgic types playing Golden Axe, Final Fight, Double dragon. You can play alone or as a multiplayer coop locally, the best options to play with people. This game can take other route is not as linear and to pass it again. Replayable thanks to achievements, challenges, artwoks ... If in doubt suggest you try the product demo from steam to create their own opinion, I charm me.
This game is fun! An arcade classic. I started to play it with a friend and it was funny as hell. If u like old arcade games, this is your game! :)
