Game description

One fine day, Eryi went to eat the melon that she had been SO looking forward to... but it was nowhere to be found! Then she noticed a note on the table. She picked it up and read: "Your melon looked delicious, so I took it. From Farta X" Fuming with rage, Eryi set out from her house to get her melon back from Farta.

Eryi's Action is a 2D ‘trapformer’ by developer Xtal Sword that is visually inspired by Super Mario, but has gameplay akin to games like I Wanna Be the Guy. Don’t be fooled by its adorably charming looks – this game abounds in traps and wants you to die! However, where IWBTG was murderously difficult, Eryi's Action is additively challenging and FUN! Trap placement is often laugh-out-loud funny and seriously engaging. Some traps simply need to be learned to avoided, but others are puzzles that will require your skill and wits to beat. Either way, Eryi’s action delivers laughs, frustrating and satisfaction & all for just $4.99!

Key Features:

  • 12 action-packed stages & boss fights!

  • Adorably charming world & characters!

  • Fiendishly cunning traps!

  • It’s okay to fail! Autosave has your back!

  • FUN! You'll die a lot, but you WILL go back for more!

  • 32 achievements!

Not What I Expected

I bought this thinking it was a platform game in the veins of Mario and Sonic. I was totally wrong. Yes you do platform jumping and whatnot, but this game is all about trial and error. You will die hundreds of times getting through this game. Heck, you die before you even leave your house in the first level. But the traps and instant death gameplay is all scripted, so once you die, you will know what to avoid and how to advance next time. That's why this game is all about memorization. The problem is that there are just so many ways to die in this game that it's hard to remember all the traps as you traverse each level for the millionth time so you will continue to make mistakes. If you have a short attention span or are looking for something deep, look elsewhere. This game is all about dying cheap deaths and learning how not to die so that you can make it to the end of each level. It's impossible to predict any of the death traps because even when you think there's one around, there might be more. I personally would not recommend this game to anyone. I'm not sure who the target audience is. I just know that I was very disappointed in my purchase as I most certainly didn't get what I expected.

Do you miss Cat Mario? Play this!

Eryi's Action is a troll platformer game, made by the people behind Cat Mario. If you have played that one, then you know what to expect when you play this one. Gameplay is good, it looks like a regular platformer, until you realise the game will try really hard to get you killed all the time. See that harmless flower? Oh, you are dead. You want to select a level? Trap activated, also, you are dead again. It is all a matter of learning where each trap is, and do your best to avoid them (and think thoroughly, because some of them are hard to get around). Eryi's Action's soundtrack is okay. It sounds cute, as cute as the game's graphics. If you are looking for a game that will make you scream in rage, then this one is for you. Get ready to die, a lot.

Surprise! You're dead.

If you know what you're getting into, this game is hilarious and fun. So if you want a good laugh, gift a copy of this to a friend without telling them what is in store, and let their rage wash over you. The controls are solid, so you can feel entirely at fault as cute little Eryi dies over and over. I was smug going into this game (knowing it was full of traps), then I spent too long on the map screen and DIED. It didn't take long at all to get my lives in the negatives. Everything is set up so that you try, die, and repeat until you learn enough to move on. Don't be fooled by the folks who say otherwise - this game is what inspired that recent Tom Cruise movie.

Trolling at it's finest

While it may look like a simple platformer, Eryi's Action is a full on rage game. With traps springing at you around every corner, it's hard to resist the urge to Alt+F4. The developer's of Eryi's Action were clever in the game's development and take many conventional ideas and recreate them with unexpected twists.

Cute Mario clone.

This game looks like it was inspired by Super Mario. Well, this is truth but not exacly. There was a fan game made which was also inspired by Mario game. I don't remember right now what the title of this was, but you was a cat that was trying to complete stage filled with tons of traps. This is what Eryi's Action is. You will die here many times, replaying stages over and over. What is worth mentioning, that this game have a best trap ever. I won't tell what it is, because it would spoil the fun, but you would never guess where a trap can be placed in this "trapformer". Also, it's cute to watch how Eryi dies. She can be also stripped out of her cloths. Get it if you enjoy platformers, trapformers, or any kind of Mario clones. You won't regret it.
