Europa Universalis IV: Conquest of Paradise is the first expansion for the critically praised empire building game Europa Universalis IV. Conquest of Paradise focuses on the exploration of the new world and the Native American nations.
Board your vessels and head westward to discover new lands and uncharted territories. For the first time in a Paradox Development Studio game, there is an added layer of suspense and discovery with new continents randomized with each playthrough – just like Columbus on his breathtaking excursion, your voyage will throw up new terrains as you sail over the Atlantic.
Conquest of Paradise also offers the possibility to play as a Native American group and master the federation mechanics and national ideas that are unique to the nations of the new world.
The age of exploration is brought to life in this epic game of trade, diplomacy, warfare and exploration by Paradox Development Studio, the Masters of Strategy. Europa Universalis IV gives you the ability to control a nation and if you have what it takes, you can mold it into an empire that lasts through the ages.
Discover a new world. A randomized New World means that no playthrough will be the same. Establish colonies to reap the riches, trade with native tribes, or conquer them to take their land for yourself.
Colonial Nations. Colonial Nations will be created out of larger colonies.
Manage colonies or play as the colony. The colonies can manage their own affairs, declare colonial war or even strive for liberty from their motherland, or you can choose to take direct control of the colony and play as the new nation instead.
Expanded Native American gameplay. Native American Nations have their own new federation mechanic, unique ideas and buildings and can migrate to greener pastures. Conquest of Paradise includes over two dozen Native American nations to play as well as new events and decisions.

I accidentally bought this expansion before I bought the base game so I don't know how the game is without it, but it seems to be a decent expansion. One issue is that I've heard that some of the content that comes with this game was patched into the base game, such as colonial nations forming. Still, there is other content such as playing as a colony you create and Random New World.
Conquest of Paradise is a decent expansion, but in my opinion overpriced, pick it up in a sale is my recommendation. The two main features are the randomly generated americas and the improvements to native american tribes. Both features are very specific to playing either a colonial nation or a tribe. Additionally, the former is prone to bugs and the latter is basically a mechanic allowing tribes to catch up in technology. Unlike the following expansions there is no feature, which you an use in every game.
Europa Universalis 4 Conquest of Paradise (or just CoP) adds a few new features to the base game. New native gameplay makes the natives more interesting but you still run out of stuff to do as them. You can now play as Colonial Nations when they revolt against you and fight some epic wars. The best feature is the random new world (America) generator. This adds a feeling of exploration and wonder that is great to have in the game. Also randomness seriously extend the longetivity of the game and with mods making the entire world random the game will give you even more hour. Buy it if you want the generator.
Build your own Empire in this PC-based strategy-sim. This DLC focuses on Native America, where you create your own tribe and colony. Fans of Europa Universalis and the Sid Meir Civilization games will feel right at home here starting and developing their own colony through discovering new land, exploration and finding new worlds. Requires the main game of Europa Universalis IV!
